However, insiders say this may not be true. “Cardi says she's done with Offset even after their New Year’s Eve hookup, but friends aren't convinced,” a source exclusively reveals in the new issue of We. “This is a pattern with them. He's a serial cheater. She gets upset but then goes back to him."
Cardi, 31, announced in a December 2023 livestream that she had been single for a while after separating from Offset, 32. "I'm looking forward to a fresh start, a new beginning," she stated. "I'm thrilled."
However, weeks later, she informed fans that she and Offset had reconciled on New Year's Eve. "Was I out at the club with my baby daddy yesterday? Yes. Did I have a good time yesterday? Absolutely, baby," Cardi shared during a live chat on X (formerly Twitter) on January 1. "I needed some fun on New Year's Eve. It felt like we were connecting and enjoying ourselves."

Cardi mentioned previously that she and Offset have not yet reconciled, but a second source has informed Us that the "Bongos" rapper is open to giving their relationship another chance. "She's hopeful for the sake of the kids that they can make it work," the insider says, referring to Cardi and Offset's two children, daughter Kulture, 5, and son Wave, 2.
Cardi's friends remain wary about her rekindling her romance with Offset, citing his history of infidelity as a cause for concern. They are reminding her that past behavior often repeats itself. However, a third source believes that this latest breakup feels more final than previous ones, with Cardi's inner circle believing that she and Offset may be over for good. Despite this, the pair still believe they will always be connected in some way.
The couple, married in 2017, briefly separated in 2018 following Offset's infidelity. Despite Cardi filing for divorce in 2020, she ultimately rescinded her petition and the two reconciled.
