7 Roseanne Characters Who Haven’t Appeared In The Conners (Yet)

The Conners spinoff has faced the challenge of carrying on without some of the original show's best characters. The critical and commercial success of Roseanne's revival in 2017 was overshadowed by the firing of star Roseanne Barr for racist tweets. This left the network with the task of turning the show into Roseanne without Roseanne, a tough position to navigate. The upcoming release of The Conners season 6 proves that the creators have managed this tricky achievement, with an initial tonally rough choice of killing off Roseanne and focusing on her grieving family in the spinoff. The absence of Anne-Marie Mitchell, Chuckie Mitchell's wife, and Fred, Jackie's first husband, from the spinoff is also notable. Additionally, Charlotte Tilden, Roseanne's rule-abiding neighbor, and Leon Carp, Roseanne's first LGBTQIA+ character, are still missing from The Conners. The most jarring oversight, however, is the absence of Jerry Garcia Conner, Roseanne's youngest child, from the spinoff.

Anne-Marie Mitchell was dropped between the show’s revival and The Conners, with her last appearance being in season 10, episode 8, “Netflix and Pill.” Fred, Jackie’s ex-husband, has simply never been addressed in The Conners. Charlotte Tilden’s existence hasn’t been addressed at all in the spinoff, and Leon Carp, Roseanne's first LGBTQIA+ character, still hasn’t shown up in the spinoff. One episode of Roseanne's season 10 mentioned that Jerry Garcia Conner was working as an Alaskan fisherman, but the spinoff has never mentioned Dan and Roseanne’s youngest child. These missing characters have left fans wondering if they will ever make an appearance in The Conners.
