The World of The Boys
The Boys, first released on Amazon Prime Video in 2019, has quickly grown a dedicated fanbase and kicked off a wider universe with one spin-off already released and more on the way. The show is based on a comic book series with the same title by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The comics are equally shocking, as they endeavor to showcase a world where superheroes exist, and they aren't perfect. Instead of iconic and noble heroes like Superman or the Flash, the world of The Boys is plagued with terribly flawed, and terrifyingly powerful heroes with fragile egos. This juxtaposition to typical hero stories leads to scenes of horror, excess, and overall chaos as the people with the power to protect others, wield it for their own personal gain and pleasure.
