The Jujutsu Kaisen fandom is abuzz with excitement after the recent developments in the second season of the anime. Episode 22 has brought an end to Mahito's chapter and introduced Pseudo-Geto and Yuki Tsukumo. The arrival of the only female special-grade sorcerer has sparked anticipation among fans for more thrilling fight sequences. The upcoming episode is expected to explore Yuki's character and reveal her fighting techniques that have not yet been shown in the anime.
Lacking substantial information about her, besides being Aoi Todo's mentor and a special grade sorcerer, fans are curious about the true extent of her strength and the reasons for her special grade classification. Please note that this article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen manga.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Exploring the factors that set Yuki Tsukumo as a special grade sorcerer
Yuki Tsukumo first appeared in episode 20 of the anime's first season as the mentor of Kyoto Jujutsu High student Aoi Todo. She later reappeared in season 2, during the first cour's (episode 5) Gojo’s Past Arc, where she interacted with Suguru Geto as a fellow special-grade sorcerer.
The storyline of Jujutsu Kaisen has previously showcased special-grade sorcerers as exceptional individuals whose very existence challenges the laws and rules of the world.
The sorcerers are anomalies, possessing immense destructive power and an exceptionally large pool of Cursed Energy. Their classification is based on their overpowering abilities and potential to single-handedly wreak havoc on entire nations.
In the current era of jujutsu, only four special-grade sorcerers are known: Satoru Gojo, who is the strongest sorcerer with his six eyes and limitless Cursed Technique; Suguru Geto, who possesses Cursed Spirit Manipulation; Yuta Okkotsu, who has the cursed spirit Rika and boundless Cursed Energy; and Yuki Tsukumo, who commands the shikigami Garuda and the overwhelming Star Rage Cursed Technique.
Yuki's formidable strength was on full display in Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 22 as she effortlessly neutralized Uraume’s powerful Icefall technique, saving Yuji and his comrades from certain death.

Yuki's true potential shines through during her confrontation with Kenjaku in the Culling Games Arc, as depicted in manga chapters 205 - 208. Not only did Yuki hold her own, but she also demonstrated her strength by overpowering the nefarious ancient sorcerer on multiple occasions. She effortlessly exorcised Kenjaku's special grade curse.
Kenjaku wondered if he could conquer Yuki's Cursed Technique on his own, labeling her a "Wild Beast" to recognize her impressive and uncontrollable power.

Even after being injured by Kenjaku's Domain expansion, Womb Profusion, Yuki remained on the attack. Her skill in hand-to-hand combat and use of the Reversed Cursed Technique allowed her to strategically heal herself during the confrontation.
During her final battle with Kenjaku, Yuki used all her strength to summon a literal black hole in a desperate attempt to defeat him. Although this sacrificial move ultimately led to her demise and did not succeed, her incredible strength showcases her value as a special-grade sorcerer.

Yuki possesses a powerful Cursed Technique called Star Rage or Bom Ba Ye, giving her mastery over virtual mass. She can use it for offense or defense on herself or her shikigami, Garuda.
In addition to her formidable Cursed Technique, Yuki showcased exceptional intellect, strategic combat skills, proficiency in close-quarter combat, and expert use of both her Cursed Technique and shikigami. She is also capable of performing Simple Domain and Domain Expansion.
Yuki had the power to execute both Simple Domain and Domain Expansion. Upon Tengen's recommendation, she opted not to unleash her Domain during her confrontation with Kenjaku.
Fans of Jujutsu Kaisen are filled with regret knowing they will never get to see the Domain Expansion of the special-grade sorcerer, Yuki, who meets her demise in the manga's storyline. Keep an eye out for more anime and manga updates in 2023.
