Season 2, Episode 21 of Jujutsu Kaisen is called "Transformation".
The episode kicks off with Todo and Yuji engaging in an intense battle against Mahito, ultimately leading to Mahito's head detaching from his body and creating two separate beings. Mahito then utilizes Soul Multiplication to create a Polymorphic Soul Isomer, a combination of various souls with low resistance that acts as an attacking force. He then dispatches three of these Isomers to go after Todo.
Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 21: 0.2-second Domain
Todo's analysis revealed that when Mahito split earlier, he allocated 80% of his strength to the stronger Dummy body, leaving the weakened real body with only 20% strength. This tactic allowed Mahito to use the stronger body to distract his opponents. Despite the Isomers being grade 2 or 3, they were still able to land hits on Todo. However, it didn't take him long to defeat the three Attack units.
Meanwhile, Mahito has combined his two bodies while battling Yuji. Just as he believes he has defeated Todo, the Grade-1 sorcerer reenters the fray. Mahito is in a tough spot because he cannot use Domain Expansion against Yuji. Sukuna had previously warned him that he would kill him if he ever ended up in Mahito's Domain.
Mahito lacks the ability to use his Domain to target Todo but exclude Yuji. However, he finds the solution after being inspired by Gojo’s accomplishments in B5F. Mahito quickly casts a 0.2-second Domain Expansion and activates his Cursed Technique.
Todo employs a Simple Domain taught by Yuki Tsukumo, while Yuji charges towards Mahito in an attempt to exorcise him before the Domain is activated. Despite their efforts, Mahito outpaces them both due to his newly unlocked abilities from experiencing Black Flash. He manages to materialize inside Sukuna’s internal Domain for 0.2 seconds and threatens to kill Yuji before Sukuna can intervene.

As the Domain Expansion comes to an end, Mahito's Cursed Technique impacts Todo, prompting him to sever his left hand at the wrist in order to protect the rest of his body. Seizing the opportunity amidst the chaos, Mahito deals a blow to Todo with Black Flash. However, Todo focuses his Cursed Energy in his stomach and withstands the attack.
Following this, he forcefully strikes Mahito with his remaining hand and uses his technique to swap places with Yuji. However, his hand is left blistered where it made contact with Mahito. Todo's necklace shatters, unveiling the images of Takada-Chan and Yuji inside. This inspires Yuji, who effortlessly deals with the Isomer Mahito throws his way.
The transformation of Mahito culminates in the use of a technique called "Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing," resulting in a more grotesque form that he refers to as his true form. Yuji is perplexed by the stark contrast between this form and Mahito's previous transformations.
Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 21: Divergent Fist
Mahito boasts that he will transform into a superior being once he eliminates Yuji. With this heightened state, Yuji acknowledges that he must deliver a Black Flash overflowing with Cursed Energy to vanquish the Curse. Being struck by a Black Flash in such close proximity to his Domain Expansion would prove fatal for Mahito.
In Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 21, the narration explains that while hitting Black Flash at will is nearly impossible, Yuji's remarkable skill in battle makes it seem as if he can do so effortlessly. Mahito anticipates Yuji's use of black flash and plans to exploit his weak point when the attack inevitably lands. By lowering his defense at this vulnerable point, Mahito can conserve his Cursed Energy, allowing him to use Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing to repair any damage from the attack. Despite Mahito's plans to exploit the break between two Black Flashes, Yuji surprises him by using his previously lost technique, Divergent Fist, instead. This unexpected move showcases Yuji's mastery of Cursed Energy.
Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 21: Shall I save you?
In Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 21, the narration reveals that Yuji now has complete control over using Divergent Fist, having learned this ability during his battle with Choso. When he uses it against Mahito, the attack has a delayed effect. Todo makes a comeback and attempts to switch places with Yuji, only to realize that he has lost his Cursed technique. Despite this, Todo's distraction allows Yuji to land a final Black Flash on Mahito.
As Mahito struggles to escape, Yuji relentlessly pursues him, leaving Mahito injured and visibly frightened. Yuji confronts Mahito, acknowledging that they are more alike than Mahito cares to admit. Yuji has come to terms with his own role, no longer seeking meaning in his compulsion to kill Mahito, but simply accepting his duty to eliminate Curses.
Mahito attempts to escape, but Yuji relentlessly pursues him like a wolf stalking its prey. Just when Mahito thinks he's free, he encounters Pseudo-Geto and pleads for assistance. Pseudo-Geto sarcastically questions whether he should come to Mahito's aid.
