X-Men Actor Struggles to Keep Count of Character's Multiple Deaths

X-Men veteran forgets numerous death scenes, leaving fans curious about character's fate Patrick Stewart teases a potential appearance as Xavier in Deadpool 3, adding to the excitement surrounding the anticipated film

A veteran actor from the X-Men film series recently revealed that they have lost count of how many death scenes they have filmed throughout the franchise's history. 20th Century Fox, now known as 20th Century Studios, began the X-Men franchise with the release of the successful film X-Men in 2000, which led to multiple sequels, prequels, and spinoffs.

Throughout the journey, a number of cast members' characters met their end, such as Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, Famke Janssen's Jean Grey, and Patrick Stewart's Charles Xavier.

In the cases of Janssen and Stewart, they portrayed their characters' deaths multiple times - and one of them is no longer able to continue.

X-Men star loses track of how many times character has died

Stewart confessed he has no idea how many times Professor X has died on the big screen in a recent episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast.

Host Josh Horowitz corrected Stewart, stating that he has, in fact, portrayed Xavier four times. Horowitz then noted that this equated to half of Stewart’s appearances as Xavier and asked the actor what he thought about it. Stewart laughed and said, "I don’t know. But I do now have every confidence that [Xavier’s] still around." For the record, Stewart’s four Xavier death scenes appear in Fox’s X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Logan, as well as Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

In the podcast, Stewart expressed frustration with Xavier's fate in Multiverse of Madness, describing filming alone and having co-stars digitally inserted during post-production. He acknowledged that pandemic-related restrictions impacted this disappointing process.

Patrick Stewart hints at an Xavier cameo in Deadpool 3

Stewart hinted at the potential of reprising his role as Xavier in Deadpool 3 on the podcast - marking Marvel Studios' initial extensive X-Men-related project following Disney's acquisition of Fox.

Stewart mentioned the possibility of a Xavier cameo in Deadpool 3, but emphasized the challenges of the past few years with labor and health issues. It's important to mention that Stewart is not confirmed as part of the Deadpool 3 cast at this point.

As a dedicated X-Men fan, I find it both amusing and intriguing that Patrick Stewart has lost count of the multiple deaths his character, Professor X, has endured throughout the franchise. It's a testament to the complex and often convoluted nature of the X-Men universe, where timelines shift, alternate realities emerge, and characters come back from the dead. Stewart's candid admission adds a touch of humor to the otherwise serious business of superhero storytelling.

Stewart's frustration with the filming process for his death scene in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is understandable. The pandemic-related restrictions undoubtedly made it challenging to create a satisfying and immersive experience for both the actor and the audience. Despite these obstacles, Stewart's dedication to the role and his willingness to embrace new technologies showcase his professionalism and commitment to the craft.
