The Return of Winter Wonderland 2023

Blizzard has announced that the Winter Wonderland event is returning to Overwatch 2 on Tuesday, December 19 and will run until Tuesday, January 9, 2024. As with previous years, the Winter Wonderland 2023 event will see the return of limited-time Arcade game modes, with Mei's Snowball Offensive, Yeti Hunt, and Freeze-Flash Elimination all available. There are Overwatch 2 achievements tied to some of these modes, so those that have yet to unlock them should be sure to participate in the Winter Wonderland event. Playing these modes will help players not only level up their Season 8 Battle Pass, but it will also help them progress through the new Winter Fair Event Pass.

Introducing the Winter Fair Event Pass

The Winter Fair Event Pass is a new addition to Overwatch 2's Winter Wonderland celebrations. While playing Overwatch 2, players will earn tickets that can be spent at the Winter Fair to unlock rewards, with tickets earned for every nine games played and wins counting as double. The free track of the Winter Fair Event Pass will let players unlock a free legendary skin, with the option to choose between the Formalwear skin for Baptiste, the Formalwear skin for Cassidy, or the Winter Jammies Illari skin. Those willing to spend 500 Overwatch Coins can upgrade their Winter Fair Event Pass to the Premium track to get more tickets and skins, including the Legendary Wrapping Paper Reinhardt and Legendary Kerrigan Widowmaker skins.

Even though the Winter Wonderland event is ending on January 9, Overwatch 2 players have until January 16 to spend their tickets. Unspent tickets will be converted to Overwatch Credits, so those that forget to spend their tickets won't be completely out of luck at least.

Exciting Additions and Game Modes

The Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland event will also see plenty of new items to purchase in the shop, with the selection changing every week. Formalwear Legendary skins are on the way for Damage heroes Tracer and Sojourn, plus fans will have the chance to grab the Nutcracker Pharah, Festive Kiriko, and Jingle Belle Mercy skins. Those premium skins will cost money, but the free track of the Winter Fair Event Pass will still give Overwatch 2 players the chance to snag some free rewards, and anyone that logs in at the start of the Winter Wonderland event on December 19 will get a new player icon for their troubles.
