It appears that Jeremy Allen White's former TV dad, William H. Macy, was not too thrilled about his recent Calvin Klein ad. Macy, who is 73 years old, mentioned in an interview with Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday, March 6 that he had to have a talk with White about it. "I had to speak to him about that. You know, as his father," Macy said, adding, "Put your pants on."

He mentioned that during their time on Shameless, William H. Macy and Jeremy Allen White worked together closely. In fact, White often had his pants off a lot on set while filming scenes.

Macy portrayed the character of Frank Gallagher on Shameless for 11 seasons, from 2011 to 2021. On the other hand, White, who is 33 years old, played the role of Lip Gallagher, Frank's son, in the Showtime series.

Since the show ended, White has become well-known because of his successful Hulu show, The Bear.

Macy also expressed her pride in White's accomplishments, saying, "He's doing really well. I'm a big fan of The Bear, and now he's even on billboards in his underwear."

White caused a stir on the internet by baring it all for Calvin Klein’s spring 2024 campaign, which was released on January 4. (Happy New Year!) He flaunted his fit physique in the photos, striking poses in just his underwear with the backdrop of the New York City skyline.

Macy was not the only one of White’s fellow actors to comment on the steamy photos. White co-stars with Ayo Edebiri in The Bear, where she portrays the sous-chef Sydney alongside his character Carmy. She was curious to know his thoughts on the advertisements.

"That's my boy, you know what I mean?" she said at the 2024 Golden Globes red carpet in January. "I do want people to see him as my coworker."

Edebiri, 28, mentioned that she is happy for White, but she started to get irritated as more media outlets continued to ask for her thoughts.

An Extra reporter backstage asked a serious question after The Bear cast won an award for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy. Edebiri seemed to anticipate the question.

Edebiri tried to take away one of the Calvin Klein photos that was shown.

"She said, 'I'm putting it away for my boy! That's my boy!' She added, 'This is a work function!'"

"White, on the other hand, has also been questioned about his choice to leave nothing to the imagination when collaborating with the iconic brand."

“In my head, I was just like, ‘I can’t see myself on a billboard.’ I shouldn’t be here,” White recalled during a January interview with GQ. “Just real imposter syndrome.”

While Macy is proud of White's success, he also feels a sense of responsibility to guide him as a mentor.
