"Season 6 Potential Storylines for Virgin River Netflix Series

One Reddit user shared their ideas for potential plotlines in Season 6 of Virgin River, including Calvin double-crossing Jimmy to aid Brady and starting his path to redemption, the revelation that Mel's dad is Hope's ex-husband, Charmaine finding love with Cameron after he and Muriel break up over parenting differences, the surprising news that the ex was a red herring, a heartwarming wedding for Hope and Doc, and the long-awaited marriage of Mel and Jack, who consider adoption."

The post went on to say, "Lizzie's baby is Ricky's, they find out during pre-natal testing maybe? Brie kisses Brady, and Mike leaves, making way for my favorite B&B! Connie somehow gives Preacher an alibi for Wes's murder and helps him get off scot-free, hopefully wrapping up this ridiculous plotline."

"I think the wedding is the only thing that is certain to happen," another user commented in a previous thread, with other fans referencing the original series of books. "Because I've read like 15 of the books at this point. They have their wedding relatively early in the books. While the show incorporates storylines from different book characters, I think they'll keep this one," a second user said.

While this is currently only a rumor among fans, there could be some truth to it. Alexandra Breckenridge, who plays Mel on the show, mentioned in an interview with TV Line that the possibility of a wedding has been discussed with the showrunner, saying "I was just talking to our showrunner about this potential wedding." She also suggested that the fictional wedding could be similar to her own real-life wedding, saying "It's going to end up looking very similar."

If this is true, the question isn’t if Mel and Jack will get married in Virgin River – it’s when.
