Will Margot Robbie Reprise Her Role as Harley Quinn?

Margot Robbie reveals her stance on reprising her role as Harley Quinn, leaving fans eagerly anticipating her decision Will she grace the screen as the beloved anti-hero once more? Find out here!

Actress Margot Robbie has discussed the possibility of returning to portray Harley Quinn in another DC project, but it seems unlikely. Lady Gaga takes on the role in this year's Joker: Folie à Deux, and Robbie has always envisioned passing the character along to other actresses.

"I always wanted Harley to be a character that would be portrayed by different actresses, similar to the many iconic male characters out there. That was always my vision for her," Robbie shared with Variety. "Harley is such a fun and versatile character. When you place her in someone else's hands, it's like, 'What creative direction will they take her in?' The possibilities are endless."

Robbie portrayed Harley Quinn in the movies Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey, and The Suicide Squad. Lady Gaga is set to take on the role for the upcoming Joker sequel, which is scheduled for release in October. Although the sequel will showcase Lady Gaga's musical talents, it is not expected to be a full-blown musical.

During the interview, Robbie also discussed the potential for another Barbie movie. With the first movie raking in over $1.4 billion and being the top-grossing film of 2023, many have speculated about a sequel. Robbie responded by saying that it is a "knee-jerk reaction" to assume there will be a sequel and added, "This wasn't intended to be a trilogy."

One of Robbie's next big movie projects is an untitled Ocean's 11 prequel in which she and Ryan Gosling re-team from Barbie to play the parents of Danny and Debbie Ocean in a film set in the 1960s.

Editor's P/S

As a passionate fan of Margot Robbie's portrayal of Harley Quinn, I am torn between excitement and disappointment. On one hand, I am thrilled that Lady Gaga will be taking on the role in the upcoming Joker sequel. Gaga is an incredibly talented actress and singer, and I can't wait to see her bring her own unique interpretation to the character. On the other hand, I am sad to see Robbie step away from the role. She has brought so much depth and complexity to Harley Quinn, and I will miss her portrayal.

Robbie's vision for Harley Quinn as a character who can be portrayed by different actresses is both intriguing and refreshing. It breaks away from the traditional mold of iconic female characters being tied to a single actress, and allows for a variety of interpretations and creative directions. I am excited to see how other actresses will bring their own unique talents and perspectives to the role in the future.
