Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher will not be returning to Point Place for another season. Despite reprising their roles as Jackie and Kelso on Netflix's That '90s Show, Kunis, 40, revealed that they will not be appearing in season 2.

In an interview published on Monday, April 22, Kunis shared with Entertainment Tonight that they did their thing. She also mentioned that she and her real-life husband Kutcher, 46, feel that their presence is not needed based on how their season 1 storyline unfolded.

"He was introduced as our son on the show," she mentioned. "That boy you saw, that's our son."

Jason "Jay" Kelso, played by Mace Coronel, made his debut as Jackie and Kelso's son in the first season of That '90s Show. Jay's mischievous behavior closely resembled his father's from the original series.

Despite being part of season 1, Kunis wasn't too thrilled with how the show was written. During the original series That '70s Show, Jackie and Kelso had broken up, and she had moved on with Fez. Surprisingly, in the new series That '90s Show that aired in 2023, Jackie and Kelso were back together.

Ashton Kutcher plays Michael Kelso and Mila Kunis plays Jackie Burkhart in the upcoming show 'That '90s Show.' They both star in the series together.

In an interview with Access Hollywood in September 2023, Kunis shared that it feels strange for her and Kutcher to be on the show as a couple. She mentioned that her character Jackie should have been with Fez, but ended up with Kutcher's character instead. Kunis humorously questioned why their characters ended up together in the show.

She said, "Now it's been around 16 years since then, and here we are, married with a kid. I was a bit unsure about it at first."

The debut season of That '90s Show had Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith back as Kitty and Red Forman. It also included appearances from That '70s Show actors Valderrama, Laura Prepon, and Topher Grace.

Seth Green, who starred alongside Mila Kunis in Family Guy, teased his return in season 2 of the show. He will be reprising his role as Mitch Miller, Eric Forman's enemy from That '70s Show. Green shared with Entertainment Tonight that he has already filmed one episode and will be filming another one soon.

The second season of That ’90s Show, which was renewed in February 2023, will hit Netflix this summer.

Ashton Kutcher's Departure from "That '90s Show"**

The unexpected departure of Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher from "That '90s Show" has left fans disappointed but intrigued. Kunis's reasoning that their presence is no longer necessary based on the show's current storyline makes sense, given that she and Kutcher are now parents to their son, Jay, who is a central character in the show. However, Kunis's earlier reservations about the show's writing, particularly regarding the reunion of Jackie and Kelso, suggest that her exit may also be due to creative differences.

Kunis's comments about the show's departure from the original series' storyline, with Jackie ending up with Fez instead of Kelso, have sparked discussion about the challenges of adapting beloved shows to new contexts. While nostalgia can be a powerful draw, it can also limit the show's ability to explore new storylines and characters. The absence of Kutcher and Kunis in future seasons of "That '90s Show" may provide the writers with an opportunity to focus more on the younger generation of characters and their own unique dynamics.
