Whoopi Goldberg isn’t here for critics of Dolly Parton‘s revealing Dallas Cowboys halftime show outfit.
During the Thanksgiving Cowboys-Commanders game, Dolly Parton, 77, stole the show dressed as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. However, 68-year-old Goldberg expressed her frustration with critics who told Parton to act her age on The View on November 27. Sunny Hostin, Goldberg's cohost, also chimed in, expressing admiration for Parton's stunning appearance.
Dolly Parton, 77, graced the stage during halftime at the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders game on Thursday, November 23. She performed in the official Dallas Cowboys cheerleader uniform, donning a blue crop top, white star fringe vest, and tiny white shorts. Parton also wore a sparkly sheer bodysuit underneath, adorned with a metallic star on her torso.
As Parton wowed the crowd with her performance of "Jolene" and "9 to 5," some fans had mixed reactions to her outfit.
A user on X (formerly known as Twitter) expressed the opinion that 77-year-old women should not be on stage pretending to be 20 and should instead be spending time with loved ones and family at home. Despite this, many fans, including former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, were impressed by Parton's outfit.
"Wow, that's impressive. She looks stunning," Romo, 43, commented on Parton's halftime performance. "She's truly wonderful. Who doesn't love Dolly Parton?" Sportscaster Jim Nantz concurred, stating, "She is undoubtedly a national treasure." Dolly's sister Stella Parton also used social media to stand up for her older sibling.
Stella, 74, defended her older sister Dolly's appearance in her Dallas Cowboys cheerleading costume during the Thanksgiving half time show, telling critics to "f–k yourself" for being so critical of the 77 year old. This comes after Dolly revealed she had faced physical and verbal abuse from her grandfather for her unique style.
During an October interview with The Guardian, she revealed, "I’m very sensitive, I didn’t like being disciplined." She went on to confess that she was "willing to pay for" receiving the punishment from her grandfather for her fashion choices, adding, "Sometimes there’s just that part of you that’s willing, if you want something bad enough, to go for it."

Dolly noted that she got inspiration for her looks from the “town tramp” from a young age.
"Her bright red lipstick, long red fingernails, and high-heeled shoes adorned with little floating plastic goldfish in the heels, paired with short skirts and low-cut tops, captivated me. Despite others dismissing her as nothing but trash, I saw her as beautiful and aspired to be like her when I grew up," she explained.
