Sabrina Mae has ingeniously recreated the character through her amusing costume.

Why Mushu Is Still so Iconic

To bring the beloved character of Mushu to life, the costume features a stunning red bodysuit that perfectly captures the dragon's signature appearance. But what truly sets it apart is the incredible neck extension that elevates Mushu's head to towering heights, creating a truly unforgettable look. It's no surprise that Mushu remains a beloved character among fans even after all these years. But he's not the only sidekick that Mulan has in her corner. Alongside Mushu, there's Cri-Kee, the lucky cricket, Khan, Mulan's trusty horse, and her loyal army pals Yao, Ling, and Chien-Po. Together, they make for a diverse and entertaining cast of characters that have helped make Mulan a timeless classic.

Mushu is undoubtedly an iconic character in the legacy of Mulan, with many associating him as the quintessential sidekick. Eddie Murphy's contributions to the character cannot be overlooked, as the comedian's pop culture savvy and dynamic energy brought Mushu to life in a way that closely resembled Robin Williams' performance as Genie in Aladdin.

It was Murphy's infectious energy in Mulan that likely led to him being cast as another iconic animated character: Donkey in Shrek. Murphy went on to reprise the role of Donkey in numerous Shrek projects, but his portrayal of Mushu remains unique and special, as he only played the role once. Mark Moseley took over the role in Mulan II, making Murphy's performance all the more rare and memorable.
