Getting familiar with potential bugs

You can reset your character in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader by having a conversation with High Factotum Janris Danrok, an NPC on your voidship. You should have access to the vessel as early as Act 1. Danrok can be found near the main terminal that opens the Koronus Expanse map. Simply choose "My retinue and I are in need of training" to open a new panel. It's worth noting that Danrok also offers another option that allows you to recruit custom companions (such as hirelings or mercenaries).

Please note that deciding to respec a character will require spending Profit Factor, with the cost rising each time you do so. Profit Factor is the currency utilized in trading for goods. For additional details on this system, please refer to our trading and faction reputation guide.

In Act 3 of the game, there is a specific chapter where your voidship will not be accessible, meaning you will be unable to respec for the entire duration of that section.

What can you respec or reset in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader

When it comes to the respec method in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader, you are only permitted to reset the talents, skills, and abilities that you have selected for your character during their leveling process. It's not possible to alter your character's or any companion's homeworld, origin, or starting archetype/class. However, once you have reached level 16, you have the option to choose a different advanced class.

A note about potential bugs

Please be aware that we have encountered several significant bugs when attempting to respec certain companions, such as Yrliet, Marazhai, and Ulfar. Some skills and talents appear as if they have already been obtained, even though they have not. We have also been unable to select certain attributes or complete the entire process, as their default stats seem to be already set. We cannot confirm if these issues will be resolved in time for the launch, so we recommend keeping backup saves handy, just in case.

Editor's P/S

As a passionate fan of the Warhammer 40K universe, I am thrilled to see the release of Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader. The game offers an immersive experience in the grim darkness of the far future, allowing players to explore the vast Koronus Expanse and engage in epic battles against the forces of Chaos and other threats. The ability to respec and reset skills adds a layer of flexibility to character development, enabling players to fine-tune their builds and adapt to different challenges.

However, I am concerned about the potential bugs mentioned in the article, particularly those related to respeccing certain companions. The inability to select certain attributes or complete the respec process can be frustrating and may hinder players from fully customizing their party. I hope that these issues will be addressed and resolved before the game's official launch to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all players.
