Vigilante leads to the possibility of a Season 2

At the end of Vigilante, thanks to Mi-ryeo’s help in framing everything on his late friend Seon-wook, Ji-yong's identity is kept a secret. Mi-ryeo and Jo-heon realize Ji-yong’s cause and the gap in the justice system. In the final scene, Ji-yong is sworn in as an officer but chooses not to salute like the others.

The last episode begins with Mi-ryeo in Mr. Bang's hands to learn the identity of the Vigilante. Jin-yong breaks into Sam-doo's office and calls Mr. Bang to set up a meeting at the World Cup stadium concert hall to reveal the truth and exchange the cryptocurrency.

Jin-young and Kang-ok (Lee Joon-hyuk) start plotting a plan when Seon-wook catches them. Throughout most of the K-drama, it has been hinted that Seok-woon has been monitoring his friend and may know the truth. The next day at the stadium, Mr. Bang and Sam-doo show up with their men. Mi-ryeo, Ji-yong, and Kang-ok are also present, along with a group of people dressed as Vigilante to act as a distraction and prevent the others from discovering the real Vigilante. Inside the stadium, Mi-ryeon is able to stop Mr. Bang's assistant, escape, and live-stream the fight. Simultaneously, Jin-yong and Kang-ok fend off the attackers as Jo-heon rushes to the stadium after witnessing the live stream.

Upon his arrival, he urges everyone to drop their weapons as Sam-doo attempts to harm Ji-yong. Seon-wook then unexpectedly steps in to shield his friend, getting wounded in the process. Ji-yong is left wondering whether he unintentionally exposed his identity or if Seon-wook was already aware. He then requests Mi-ryeong to take him to the hospital.

In a tumultuous water passage clash, Uhm Jae-hyeop (Lee Hae-oung) intervenes in an attempt to bring an end to the chaos after failing to execute his plans to eliminate Mi-ryeong and Sam-doo. Amid his attempt to shoot them, Ji-yong comes to their defense, only to be stopped by Jo-heon. Mr. Bang strikes Ji-yong, and Jae-hyeop fires his gun, hitting Mr. Bang. Jo-heon seemingly kills him as Ji-yong fights and ultimately kills Mr. Bang. The scene concludes with Ji-yong unconscious and Seon-wook being transported in an ambulance.

The finale of Vigilante reveals the shocking truth about Seon-wook and the tragic story of Mi-ryeo's father. As Ji-yong pays respects at his friend's grave, a powerful message about the flaws in the justice system becomes clear to both Mi-ryeo and Jo-heon. Meanwhile, Jae-hyeop is rewarded for his efforts, leaving the door open for a possible new season. The scene ends with Ji-yong and his classmates becoming officers, but Ji-yong's refusal to salute hints that the fight for justice is far from over.
