Lala Kent, who is pregnant, recently talked about how her daughter Ocean reacted to the news of becoming a big sister.
During an episode of her podcast "Give Them Lala" on Monday, March 4, Kent, 33, shared that she didn't make a big announcement to Ocean. Instead, she casually mentioned to her daughter while she was sitting on her, "Mama has a baby in her belly, so we need to be careful."
The Vanderpump Rules star shared a sweet moment when her 2-year-old daughter was not surprised by the news. She recalled, "She goes, ‘Do you have a baby in your belly?’ I said, ‘Yeah.’ And she goes, ‘Well, let me see.'"
Kent’s mother, Lisa, also present on the podcast, mentioned that Ocean pointed out that she “doesn’t have a baby” in her own stomach.
“She goes, ‘I don’t have a baby in my belly.’ I was like, ‘That is correct,'” Kent joked on the episode.

Lala Kent shared a heartwarming moment on Instagram. She revealed details about Ocean's reaction following her pregnancy announcement. In a photo posted on Sunday, March 3, Ocean can be seen looking at her growing baby bump. Kent captioned the photo with, "I'm expanding my pod."
Kent became a mother in 2021 when she welcomed Ocean with her now-ex-fiancé Randall Emmett. Since their breakup, Kent has mentioned her desire to have another child, but this time without a partner.
During a "Scheananigans" podcast episode in November 2022, Kent expressed her reluctance to involve another person in the process. She considered using a sperm donor but ultimately decided against it. Kent explained, "I don't want to take the chance of it not working out, especially where we live. I've been through so much in my life that I'm not willing to risk it again."
Earlier this year, Kent revealed in an interview with Cosmopolitan that she was undergoing intrauterine insemination (IUI).
"It's a path I never expected to take," she shared. "I always imagined myself in a traditional relationship, starting a family. But now that things have taken a different turn, I'm thankful that this option is available to me."
On Monday's podcast, Kent shared how she selected a donor. She mentioned that she isn't concerned about looks and believes genetics can be unpredictable. Kent acknowledged that siblings can look very different despite having the same parents. However, she did admit to asking about the donor's appearance.
The reality star expressed a desire to reduce uncertainty by ensuring that the baby would resemble her, her mother, and Ocean. She wanted the child to feel a sense of belonging and not have to face questions about not having a father due to being conceived through a donor.
Kent emphasized the importance of creating a smooth and comfortable experience for her children. She acknowledged that the world can be challenging even in a conventional family setting and wanted to shield her children from unnecessary difficulties.
