Upload Season 3 Throws a Wrench in Your Favorite Ship's Dreams

Aleesha and Luke's chances of being together are put to the test in Upload Season 3, Episode 4 Dive into the captivating dilemma of whether they should or shouldn't pursue their relationship in this intriguing series

Summary

The possibility of Aleesha and Luke getting together becomes more difficult in season 3 after Aleesha meets someone else in episode 4.

The addition of Karina as a new character jeopardizes the potential future of Aleesha and Luke, as she forms a bond with Aleesha. Despite the undeniable chemistry between Aleesha and Luke, their relationship could potentially hinder the captivating friendship they share and replicate the challenges faced by the main couple.

Nathan and Nora are the main couple in Upload, but there is another relationship that could potentially evolve. However, season 3 has made it increasingly unlikely for that to happen. The third season of the popular comedy series on Amazon Prime Video picks up after a major cliffhanger from the finale of season 2. Nathan has now been downloaded into Lakeview, and he and Nora are on a mission to uncover the plans of Freeyond and its creators. Meanwhile, a backup copy of Nathan has been uploaded.

In addition to Nathan and Nora's story, season 3 also follows Nora's friend Aleesha and Nathan's friend Luke, who both have their own challenges to face. Aleesha is adjusting to new responsibilities at Horizen after a promotion, and Luke is struggling with Nathan's absence without knowing about the copy of his best friend in Lakeview. The bond between Aleesha and Luke continues to grow now that she is no longer his angel, but their potential romance is complicated after Aleesha meets someone new in episode 4.

While Upload season 3 welcomes back familiar faces, it also introduces new characters, including Karina Silva (Jeanine Mason). Karina, a Horizen executive responsible for new product development and cybersecurity, is first encountered by Aleesha and Lucy at a Horizen event in San Francisco. From the start, Karina flirts with Aleesha and even supports her when she voices her suggestions for improving Lakeview. Their flirting eventually leads to them spending the night together, putting Aleesha's potential future with Luke in jeopardy.

Ever since their initial on-screen interaction, the undeniable chemistry between Aleesha and Luke has been palpable. Starting with a "frenemies" dynamic, Luke constantly teased Aleesha as his angel, while she never hesitated to stand up to him, which created tension with Lucy. However, as Aleesha discovered more about Luke's personal struggles, their relationship began to soften, and they have since offered each other support on various occasions, most recently during Cyber Discount Day.

While Aleesha and Luke are fully aware of the complications and risks involved in pursuing a romantic relationship, the undeniable chemistry between them has turned them into a beloved couple. However, due to Aleesha currently being in a relationship with Karina (and it remains uncertain how long this will last), her and Luke getting together is not possible at this time.

Should Aleesha & Luke Get Together In Upload?

Since season 2, Aleesha and Luke have developed a stronger bond through getting to know each other. It's clear that Luke's feelings for Aleesha go beyond their angel/upload dynamic. While it may seem like the logical next step for them to become a couple, the series would be taking a risk by potentially compromising one of its most intriguing and heartwarming friendships. Additionally, it would also run the risk of mirroring the struggles seen in Nathan and Nora's alive/upload relationship. Considering this, it might be beneficial for Aleesha and Luke to remain friends. However, it wouldn't be a negative outcome if they were to eventually acknowledge their feelings for one another in future seasons of Upload and beyond.
