Sony is expanding its gaming content for this TV, with plans for God of War and Horizon shows. However, the status of these projects is currently unknown. At Sony's Consumer Electronics Show event this week, Sony Pictures Television president Katherine Pope announced that writing has begun for both shows.
"We're thrilled to announce that we have commenced writing for two new IP-based projects," Pope announced. Furthermore, Pope expressed the team's excitement at Sony Pictures TV to collaborate on Season 2 of the Twisted Metal series for Peacock.
Not much information is available about the God of War and Horizon TV shows, other than the fact that the God of War series is in development for Prime Video and the Horizon show is planned for Netflix.
Sony's PlayStation Productions, a division dedicated to adapting PlayStation game franchises for television and film, is responsible for the God of War and Horizon shows. In addition to these TV projects, PlayStation Productions is also working on bringing Gravity Rush and Ghost of Tsushima to the big screen.
Expanding the scope, PlayStation Pictures has collaborated with Nintendo to produce a live-action film adaptation of The Legend of Zelda, with the involvement of Shigeru Miyamoto and Marvel's Avi Arad.
In addition to the gaming exhibitions, some of Sony Pictures TV's forthcoming projects include Season 4 of The Boys, the concluding season of Cobra Kai, and the new series Dark Matter.
Editor's P/S
As a Gen Z fan, I am thrilled to hear about the progress being made on the God of War and Horizon TV shows. These are two of my favorite gaming franchises, and I can't wait to see them come to life on screen. I believe that these shows have the potential to be huge hits, and I'm excited to see how they will expand the worlds of these games. I am confident that Sony Pictures Television will do a great job of adapting these games for TV, and I can't wait to see the finished products.
On the other hand, I am a bit concerned about the lack of information that is currently available about these shows. I would love to know more about the storylines, the characters, and the actors who will be playing them. I am also curious to know when these shows will be released. I hope that Sony Pictures Television will release more information about these shows soon, so that fans can start to get excited about them.
