The highly anticipated Wind Breaker anime, scheduled for release in April 2024, made waves this Wednesday with the release of its first promotional video. CloverWorks, the studio behind recent hit Spy X Family, is handling the animation, and the video also gave fans a glimpse at the talented team behind the project.
Based on Satoru Nii's manga series that debuted in January 2021, Wind Breaker follows the action-packed story of teenage gang members and currently spans 14 volumes, drawing comparisons to the popular series Tokyo Revengers.

Wind Breaker anime gets its first promotional video
The inaugural teaser trailer for the Wind Breaker anime features Haruka Sakura, the protagonist, on the hunt for the toughest student in his new school to engage in battles. It has been announced earlier that the anime adaptation of Satoru Nii's manga will be released in April 2024.
CloverWorks has confirmed that they will be adapting the series, with notable staff members including Toshifumi Akai directing, Hiroshi Seko writing the composition, Taishi Kawakami in charge of character designs, and Ryo Takahashi handling the music.
The appeal and premise of the series
Meanwhile, some of the standout voice cast members include Yūma Uchida as Haruka Sakura, Kouki Uchiyama as Kyо̄tarо̄ Sugishita, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Hayato Suо̄, Yūichi Nakamura as Hajime Umemiya, Ryōta Suzuki as Tōma Hiragi, and Shōya Chiba as Akihiko Nirei. There is a strong possibility that additional voice cast members will be revealed in the coming months.
Satoru Nii's manga follows the story of Haruka Sakura, a new student at a high school. Unlike typical teenagers, Haruka's sole purpose is to uncover the identity of the strongest student in the school and challenge them to a fight, a major focal point in the narrative.
The series is full of fighting and gangs, leading many fans to compare it to Tokyo Revengers. As the charismatic protagonist, Haruka learns that using his fists alone won't solve all the problems in this manga.
Editor's P/S
As a hard fan of the Wind Breaker manga, I am thrilled about the upcoming anime adaptation. The first promotional video released this week has only heightened my excitement. The animation looks stunning, and the voice cast seems perfectly suited to their respective characters. I can't wait to see the manga's action-packed story come to life on screen.
The Wind Breaker manga is a unique and refreshing take on the high school genre. It's not just about fighting and gangs; it also explores themes of friendship, loyalty, and self-discovery. Haruka Sakura is a complex and relatable protagonist, and I'm eager to see his journey unfold in the anime. I believe that Wind Breaker has the potential to be one of the best anime of 2024, and I can't wait to see it hit the airwaves.
