"Soulmates can take various forms, and I believe that it goes beyond just being a romantic partner. Hence, James is indeed one of my soulmates," the beauty mogul responded on her Instagram Story, accompanying her statement with a picture of herself and Kennedy, aged 31.

The duo swiftly established a friendship when Kent made her first appearance on Vanderpump Rules in 2015. Despite Kennedy's attempts to pursue Kent after his breakup with Kristen Doute, their playful exchanges eventually fizzled out.

Kent confessed during season 10 that she engaged in a sexual relationship with the DJ in 2016 while they were both in committed partnerships. At the time, Kent was dating Randall Emmett while Kennedy had gone public with Raquel Leviss. On a February episode of the popular Bravo series, which was filmed in July 2022, Kent revealed to Katie Maloney that she and James had hooked up when they were both new to their respective relationships. She disclosed that they had been in Chicago in 2016 and had started drinking before boarding the plane, which led to their intimate encounter. This explained Kennedy's comment about Kent doing handstands, as it was a reference to her athletic abilities.

After being informed by Kent about her history with Kennedy, Leviss, 28, publicly criticized them. Leviss and Kennedy had announced their separation during the airing of the season 9 reunion in January 2022.

"Seriously, Lala? So, you're going to sit there and pass judgment on me for potentially making out with Tom Schwartz, but you slept with my partner while we were still together? You're a complete hypocrite," Leviss stated in a confession episode in February. This came after Leviss had previously expressed her affection for Schwartz on camera during his divorce from Maloney, 37. (Leviss and Schwartz, 40, had a romantic encounter at Scheana Shay and Brock Davies' wedding in August 2022.)

Behind the scenes, the situation took a different turn as it was revealed in March that Leviss had been engaging in an extramarital affair with Tom Sandoval for several months. Consequently, the cofounder of TomTom, aged 40, and Ariana Madix decided to end their nearly decade-long relationship due to Sandoval's unfaithfulness.

Kent swiftly turned to social media to express her solidarity with Madix, aged 38, amidst the turmoil. In response to fans labeling the podcast host as a hypocrite for calling out Sandoval, the author of "Give Them Lala" elucidated the distinctions between her own involvement with Kennedy and the present situation.

"Given the constant scrutiny on James and I being together, let's not forget the reunion where R*quel stated, 'Our relationship truly began after I moved in with him,'" she wrote alongside a March Instagram selfie featuring her and Kennedy. "Furthermore, it has been revealed that R*ndall was indeed married at the time (and lied about it), and one cannot cheat on a married person. Therefore, in my opinion, James and I were two single individuals simply enjoying ourselves. Enough with the unnecessary noise. It's starting to resemble S*ndovals band, and it's bothersome to my recently pinned back ears."

The TV personality also shared her thoughts on how Leviss was initially poised to be the fan favorite during season 10.

Kent commented on Leviss' emotional state during a May podcast episode, suggesting that Leviss' tearful moments about her breakup with Kennedy indicated her desire to make up for lost time. Kent questioned whether Leviss' heavy crying was stemming from guilt, pointing out that the emotional affair had already begun before Leviss' sexual encounter with Raquel and Sandoval. Despite frequently criticizing Leviss, Kent acknowledged that she saw a broken person in Leviss and believed she had a heart and soul. Kent did not rule out the possibility of Leviss finding redemption.
