The Assassin's Creed series has taken gamers on numerous thrilling historical adventures, and Assassin's Creed Mirage aims to recapture the essence of the older games by offering a unique combination of action, stealth, parkour, and storytelling.
Regardless of whether players are seasoned assassins or newcomers to the Brotherhood, delving into the intricate and immersive world of any new Assassin's Creed game can be a challenging yet rewarding journey. Each new installment introduces fresh gameplay mechanics, captivating settings, and intriguing characters, which often lead players to unknowingly stumble into traps and pitfalls, causing them to reflect on their experience and wish they had possessed more information beforehand.
10 Don’t Upgrade Gear Too Often
Assassin's Creed Mirage introduces a gear system reminiscent of the RPG-inspired installments within the series. However, in this game, the significance of gear is not as pronounced. Prioritizing stealth and strategic thinking, Assassin’s Creed Mirage downplays the importance of sheer strength and stat enhancements.
While players can acquire special outfits and weapons with bonuses through side-quests, the enhancement they offer is minimal. Unless players encounter significant challenges in completing a mission, it is not advisable to invest excessive time in obtaining the best gear. In such cases of difficulty, a more efficient approach would be to modify the game's difficulty setting or venture out to discover superior gear.
9 Remember To Collect Favor Tokens
In the bustling city of Baghdad, Basim leverages the presence of merchants, mercenaries, and musicians to his advantage during missions. Introducing Favor tokens, a unique form of currency that can be utilized to bribe these non-playable characters (NPCs) into providing assistance. For instance, merchants can offer discounted prices, mercenaries can engage in combat against enemies, and musicians can divert the attention of guards.
There are two avenues for players to obtain Favor Tokens: pickpocketing and contract missions. While pickpocketing provides a quicker option, contract missions require more time and effort. However, these missions offer some of the most imaginative scenarios in Mirage, making them well worth exploring for players.
8 Don’t Waste Time Upgrading All Tools
Basim can unlock and upgrade six various tools in the Assassin bureaus across Baghdad: the torch, smoke bombs, noisemakers, blowdarts, throwing knives, and traps. While the torch and throwing knives are readily available early on, the other four tools require materials and currency to be unlocked.
Rather than attempting to unlock all six tools at once, players should prioritize the ones that align with their preferred playstyle. For a stealthy approach, it is advisable to prioritize the smoke bombs, noisemakers, and blowdarts. On the other hand, if a more aggressive style of play is desired, the focus should be on the throwing knives and traps.
7 Don’t Rush Into Fights
Content must be written in English:
Although Basim possesses a sword for direct combat, he primarily operates as an assassin. In Assassin's Creed Mirage, reminiscent of the earlier games in the series, emphasis is placed on stealth as the most effective approach for completing missions. Engaging in direct combat should be a last resort, as Basim can easily become outnumbered and overwhelmed.
Players are advised to strategize their paths through restricted zones, while closely monitoring enemy locations. Utilizing distractions, disguises, and blending into crowds are essential tactics. Additionally, utilizing Enkidu to identify enemies and their patrol routes is highly recommended.
6 Don’t Forget Enkidu
In Assassin's Creed Mirage, players will encounter a familiar element from past games in the series - a reliable feathered ally. Enkidu, the eagle companion of Basim, proves invaluable for reconnaissance, enabling players to spot both adversaries and concealed entry points.
Prior to entering a mission zone, it is advisable for players to allocate some time to navigate the area as Enkidu, meticulously identifying all adversaries and strategically plotting their course. It is important to remain cautious, as sharpshooters can pose a potential threat to Enkidu. Players should eliminate them swiftly or ensure that Enkidu soars at a considerable height, thereby eluding detection by enemies.
5 Don’t Ignore The Notoriety Level
In Assassin's Creed Mirage, the emphasis on stealth brings about repercussions for not remaining concealed, setting it apart from newer installments in the series. Taking down enemies in plain sight will incur the wrath of the city, elevating the player's notoriety level and ultimately attracting pursuit from formidable foes.
To diminish the level of notoriety, players must proactively seek out and remove wanted posters scattered throughout Baghdad. Thus, if maneuvering through the game world becomes challenging due to relentless pursuit, the search for these posters should be prioritized.
4 Use Photo Mode
At any point during gameplay, players can activate photo mode by simultaneously pressing both thumbsticks on consoles. This feature provides a unique perspective of Baghdad from a bird's-eye view, which can be beneficial for identifying solutions to Enigma puzzles. These puzzles often involve deciphering cryptic drawings to locate specific areas.
Additionally, photo mode serves as a valuable tool for players to capture breathtaking images of the city and its residents. Not only does it enhance the overall gameplay experience, but it also allows for endless possibilities in terms of creativity and exploration.
3 Don’t Ignore Pickpocketing
In Assassin's Creed Mirage, pickpocketing certain NPCs now requires players to complete a quick-time event. While stealing coins and basic items from ordinary citizens of Baghdad is relatively easy, attempting to steal higher-value items like Mysterious Shards or Dervis' Artifacts triggers the QTE, which can be challenging.
To make pickpocketing these valuable items more manageable, it's advisable to acquire the Pickpocket Master skill. This skill, located near the end of the Trickster skill tree, costs four skill points but significantly expands the QTE window. It is highly recommended to prioritize obtaining this skill as soon as possible if players are encountering difficulties in successfully pickpocketing the higher-value items.
2 Don’t Just Fill The Inventory
There are no inventory capacity limits in Assassin's Creed Mirage, but it is still advisable to travel light, particularly if players wish to increase their money reserves. While looting chests and containers, players will come across various random items, many of which are not required for crafting and are automatically marked as trinkets.
To sell all the trinkets in the inventory at once, players can visit a vendor, switch to the "sell" page, and hold down the relevant button to sell all. By consistently selling trinkets, players can accumulate a substantial amount of wealth as it gradually accumulates over time.
1 Don’t Ignore Contracts
Contracts are minor, isolated missions that may appear unimportant, yet they deserve careful consideration. Players will obtain rewards that are valuable for crafting, as well as a Favor Token for each contract completed. Favor Tokens have multiple uses, such as diminishing notoriety if players find themselves on the wrong side of the guards, reducing prices at merchants, hiring groups to combat or divert guards, and more.
Considering the scarcity of Favor Tokens, engaging in contracts is highly recommended. Additionally, certain contracts in the game present captivating and enjoyable side missions for players to explore.
