Google quietly reduced the charging speed of the original Pixel Watch after launching the Pixel Watch 2. Alternatively, Google may be focusing on customer safety, given that the Fitbit Ionic was recalled due to a burn hazard just a year ago.

According to Android Police, most Pixel Watch users do not seem bothered by this change. They appreciate that the Pixel Watch remains cool while charging, which is their primary concern. However, one owner mentioned that the timing of the downgrade makes it appear unfavorable. This represents the main issue: downgrading an expensive product after launching its successor is unlikely to generate positive reactions from Google's customers.
