Warning! This article contains spoilers for Ahsoka episode 4.
Summary
Zeb, the Ghost crew member from Star Wars Rebels, has not yet appeared in the Ahsoka series. The exact timeline of Ahsoka remains unclear, but it takes place after the events of The Mandalorian season 2.
Zeb's presence in Ahsoka is unlikely as he is currently patrolling the Outer Rim in The Mandalorian season 3. Despite this, Zeb has yet to make an appearance in Ahsoka, as he is elsewhere in the main Star Wars galaxy. Ahsoka, the latest live-action Star Wars series, serves as an addition to the animated Star Wars Rebels series, both overseen by creator Dave Filoni. The story of Ahsoka revolves around Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger, making it inevitable for the Ghost crew members to make their live-action debuts and join Ahsoka on her journey.
Despite the presence of other members from the Star Wars Rebels crew in various productions, Garazeb "Zeb" Orellios is noticeably absent. While characters like Sabine, Hera, Chopper, and Hera's Force-sensitive son Jacen have all made appearances in Ahsoka, Zeb has yet to join the story. Even Ezra has been featured through a hologram, leaving Zeb as the only surviving original member of the Ghost crew who has not been included in the adventures of Ahsoka. Although there are reasons for this omission, clues suggest that his involvement may still be on the horizon.
Ahsoka's Place In The Star Wars Timeline Isn't Quite Clear
The precise timing of the events in Ahsoka remains unknown, although it is certain that they take place after The Mandalorian season 2 when Morgan Elsbeth was apprehended by Ahsoka and the New Republic. Previous assumptions that Ahsoka coincided with The Mandalorian season 3 were undermined by the introduction of Carson Teva in Ahsoka episode 4. Consequently, determining Zeb's location in the galaxy during these events becomes challenging due to the lack of specific chronological information.
Zeb Seems To Be Patrolling The Outer Rim In The Mandalorian Season 3
When Zeb made his on-screen debut in season 3 of The Mandalorian, he was stationed at the Adelphi Base alongside Carson Teva. Although Carson managed to leave his post to assist Hera on Home One, Zeb's duties in patrolling the Outer Rim prevented him from doing the same. It's possible that Zeb has been assigned to a critical position that cannot be abandoned, potentially mentoring a promising pilot. Given the need to fulfill fans' desire for a Star Wars Rebels reunion featuring the entire crew, Zeb's only chance of appearing in the series would be if the story ventured into a new galaxy. However, this seems unlikely, suggesting that Zeb may not make an appearance at all.
Zeb's willingness to help his found family may increase now that they are short on helping hands. If he discovers Sabine's decision to go with Morgan Elsbeth, he may be even more motivated to join Hera in her efforts. Given the current direction of Ahsoka's story, this seems to be Zeb's only viable option to make an appearance. Although he is occupied with important matters in the Outer Rim as a member of the Adelphi Base, there is still a possibility for him to reunite with the Ghost crew. With more episodes of Ahsoka yet to be released, anything is possible, including Zeb's reunion. Ahsoka new episodes air on Disney+ on Tuesdays at 6 pm PT / 9 pm ET.
