The Worst of Evil concluded its 12-episode run with a devastating finale, leaving fans heartbroken and the main characters facing the aftermath of lies, deceit, and love. The conclusion brought many to tears.

Jun-mo (played by Ji Jang-wook) finds himself even closer to Gi-cheul (played by Wi Ha-joon), as does Eui-jeong (played by Im Se-mi). The undercover married couple has managed to manipulate the crime boss without his knowledge. However, both Jun-mo and Eui-jeong are uncertain about what lies ahead after completing their mission. As the plot of this Disney+ K-drama grows more intricate, Jun-mo accompanies Gi-cheul on a dangerous mission to retrieve drugs from Chinese suppliers, with the intention of delivering them to the Japanese.

In the eleventh episode of the K-drama, Gi-cheul faces betrayal from those closest to him. Jun-mo and Eui-jeong's true identities come under threat, leaving Gi-cheul vulnerable. Min-goo, the cop, uncovers that Do-hyun is not actually Jun-mo and shares this information with Jong-ryul. Meanwhile, the police are closing in on Gi-cheul.

The Worst of Evil Episode 12 has Min-goo work with Gi-cheul’s men

After feeling betrayed by Gi-cheul, Jung-bae decides to take control of the drug business. He becomes the new leader of the Union and teams up with Min-goo to devise a plan to get Gi-cheul arrested.

As the police come to arrest Jong-ryul, Do-hyun is rushed to the hospital. In the meantime, Jun-mo goes back to the Union to check on Gi-cheul. Sadly, Do-hyun succumbs to his injuries and passes away. Little does he know, Jung-bae made a secret agreement with Min-goo to have Gi-cheul apprehended for drug possession.

When Gi-cheul is arrested, he is devastated to see Eui-jeong there witnessing his downfall. Filled with rage, Jun-mo crashes into the police car and manages to escape with Gi-cheul to a safe hiding spot.

Chang-sik (played by Lee Jeong-heon) comes up with a plan to force Jung-bae (played by Lim Seong-jae) to reach out to Oyama, the Japanese buyer. He has all the known dealers and buyers arrested. Kang-san later demands payment from Jung-bae for Hae-ryun's (played by Bibi) drug products and asks to meet her in person. As requested by Jun-mo, Hae-ryun willingly reveals information about the Japanese buyer.

Meanwhile, Min-goo discovers that Do-hyun was pretending to be Jun-mo and informs Hae-ryun. It is important to note that Jun-mo's undercover name is Seung-ho, and nobody knows his real name. Hae-ryun questions Jun-mo about his true feelings for her and whether she should stay in Korea or leave. He tells her the truth. Touched by his honesty, she forgives him and decides to kill Min-goo before leaving.

The Worst of Evil Episode 12 ending has death and moving on

While on one last drug trade, Jun-mo’s mission is coming to an end, and reveals himself as a police officer to Gi-cheul, later leading to Gi-cheul’s death.

Gi-cheul, despite being handcuffed to the steering wheel by Jun-mo, finds a way to escape as Jun-mo intentionally leaves the car keys and handcuff keys behind. With the mission concluded, Eui-jeong and Jun-mo continue with their lives, uncertain about the future of their relationship. Upon returning home, they are surprised to find Gi-cheul patiently waiting for them.

He discovers they are married and had deceived him from the very beginning. He harshly reprimands Eui-jeong for leading him to believe their love was genuine, emphasizing the grave nature of her actions. Despite fully grasping the anguish she has inflicted, she stoically declares that she can cope with the burden of guilt. In an attempt to make her suffer further, Gi-cheul aims the gun at himself, contemplating suicide. However, Jun-mo intervenes and acts swiftly by shooting him in the chest, preventing more anguish and trauma for his wife.

Despite their deceptive intentions, both characters developed genuine love and concern for Gi-cheul in their own way. Gi-cheul, a former DJ turned drug kingpin, formed a newfound brotherly friendship with Jun-mo and believed he could abandon his dark past after rekindling his love for his first crush. However, he ultimately faced betrayal.

In the concluding scenes of "The Worst of Evil," the timeline shifts to some time later, showing Jun-mo accepting an award and promotion while paying respects to Do-hyung through a photo displayed at his memorial. The K-drama concludes with Jun-mo and Eui-jeong dealing with the repercussions of the past and Jun-mo visiting Gi-cheul's grave.
