The RPG genre has always held a significant position in the gaming industry, and its influence has continuously grown over the past few decades. In the past, games were easily categorized based on their genre and gameplay style, but categorizing modern titles has become more challenging. With the evolution of the video game landscape, a greater number of games are blending genres together. For instance, action games now incorporate racing elements, and adventure games borrow from common horror tropes. However, the most popular genre fusion has been between RPGs and various other game types, including FPS titles like Immortals of Aveum.
Immortals of Aveum, set to be released in just a month, has the potential to become one of the most thrilling games of the Summer. Developed by individuals who have previously worked on renowned FPS franchises like Call of Duty, Immortals of Aveum transports players to the fantasy world of Aveum, which is trapped in an everlasting conflict known as the Everwar. Players assume the role of Jak, a formidable new mage in this realm, as he endeavors to defeat the opposing factions using his extraordinary gun-like magical abilities. Along the way, players will discover a plethora of RPG-style loot to equip, with the most crucial item being the Sigil.
How Immortals of Aveum's Sigils Work
Immortals of Aveum, like many other action-adventure games nowadays, incorporates elements of the RPG genre. As players progress, they will unlock new spells and level up their character, gaining access to new Talents that provide special combat abilities. Additionally, the game features a basic gear system where each equipment piece enhances a specific stat.
In Immortals of Aveum, there are currently four types of gear available. Bracers focus on boosting defensive capabilities, Rings enhance the Fury spell type, Totems provide movement and spell handling bonuses, and Sigils, the most crucial, improve and augment the game's three types of magic. Players can equip three Sigils simultaneously, one for each color of magic they can use. Here are the Sigils confirmed to appear in Immortals of Aveum:

Content in a better way:
In Immortals of Aveum, Sigils serve as a means to enhance the player's magical abilities by boosting their stats. However, not all Sigils provide the same level of helpfulness. Take, for instance, the Purified Arclight Sigil, which is a special bonus item for pre-orders. This Sigil amplifies the power of blue Strike spells and the Shatter Fury spell. On the other hand, the Triarch's Wrath Sigil, which is exclusive to the Deluxe Edition of the game, offers an incredibly useful ability. It can be assigned to any color spell slot and significantly increases critical damage. Another excellent example is the Lucent Maelstrom Sigil, which provides a general boost by increasing all green magic power by 15%. Lastly, the Lucent Burstfire Sigil is worth mentioning as it extends the maximum projectile distance by 100%.
However, there are also Sigils that offer more specific bonuses. The Wildland Seekershards Sigil, for instance, modifies the Torrent spell to launch a single massive missile that deals 200% increased damage. Similarly, the Premic Arclight Sigil only enhances critical damage by 15% for the Arclight spell. Players must choose their Sigils wisely, taking into account their unique playstyle and finding the best combinations for optimal gameplay.
Immortals of Aveum launches on August 22, 2023 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
