Premium tier members of PlayStation Plus are in for a treat this month with the addition of new classic games, all of which come with trophy support. PS Plus Premium subscribers enjoy a range of benefits not available to other tiers, including the opportunity to play select PS1, PS2, and PSP games.
In a recent announcement, Sony unveiled the lineup of games set to join the PS Plus Extra and Premium offerings in July 2023. Exciting titles like It Takes Two, Sniper Elite 5, Snowrunner, World War Z, Samurai Warriors 5, and Undertale will be added to the subscription service. Additionally, Premium tier users can access Twisted Metal, Twisted Metal 2, and Gravity Crash Portable at no extra charge. And now, new information confirms that gamers will have the chance to earn trophies while enjoying these three titles.
As per Push Square's report, Exophase has listed trophies for Twisted Metal, Twisted Metal 2, and Gravity Crash Portable, indicating that these games will be launched on PS Plus Premium with trophy support. Excitingly, all three titles will also offer the coveted Platinum trophy, providing trophy hunters with an opportunity to expand their collection. While many games on PS Plus Premium already offer trophy support, it is reassuring to know that this trend will continue in the July 2023 lineup.
Players can earn trophies for completing levels in Twisted Metal, with some requiring the completion of specific tasks and objectives. The difficulty in earning these trophies may vary between different titles, but some PS Plus Premium games make it relatively easy for users to unlock the Platinum trophy.
Although many titles are launched with trophy support, Sony occasionally adds them to games post-release, as seen with the game Super Stardust Portable. This game was initially released on PS Plus Premium in June 2022, but it received an update in 2023 that introduced trophy support.
PS Plus Premium subscribers not only have access to classic games but also enjoy the benefit of time-limited trials. This feature allows them to try out games for a specific period, with different durations depending on the title. Most games offer two to three hours of gameplay, although some only allow one hour. For example, Hogwarts Legacy’s PS Plus Premium trial offers a shorter 45-minute gameplay experience. Nonetheless, this feature provides a fantastic opportunity for players to test games before making a purchase, and Sony consistently updates the lineup of trials.
