Blizzard has released the patch notes for version 1.0.2d of Diablo 4 ahead of its full launch, featuring class balance changes and bug fixes. While not all ongoing issues have been addressed, Blizzard has assured players that it will continue to listen to their feedback both during and after the game's launch. The early access period for those with Digital Deluxe or Ultimate Editions on PC or console was met with connection issues and bugs, but Blizzard is actively monitoring and fixing issues as they arise. Patch 1.0.2d prioritizes class balance in preparation for the game's official release.
Blizzard has released Diablo 4 Patch 1.0.2d with the aim of reducing the effectiveness of certain builds and Paragon Glyphs, while improving underperforming skills and builds. One of the previous fixes involved disabling the overpowered Gohr's Devastating Grips for Barbarians, and the latest patch has further toned down the item's power. The bonus explosion damage from Whirlwind has been significantly reduced, and the grips will no longer benefit from destructible objects. Instead, the bonus will only be gained from the first 100 hits of Whirlwind.
Necromancer minions and Druid companions have been given a boost in their defensive capabilities, making them more resistant to damage-over-time effects. Furthermore, certain Necromancer abilities such as Blood Lance, Blood Wave, and Army of the Dead have received buffs, which will be music to the ears of players who utilize these abilities in their builds. However, there has been a reduction of 34% in the power of Paragon Glyphs in Diablo 4, with some exceptions. Glyphs that enhance critical strike chance and the potency of the vulnerability debuff have seen their power reduced by 66%, and some node bonuses have been reduced by at least 50%.
Unfortunately, players seeking a resolution to the Stolen Artifice sidequest in Scosglen will have to exercise some patience, as this quest remains disabled as of Patch 1.0.2d. It remains to be seen when Blizzard will address this and other ongoing issues.

The team behind Diablo IV has been closely paying attention to your feedback. In order to ensure that your time in Sanctuary is as seamless as possible, we will be regularly releasing updates. As we do, we will keep you informed with a list of the changes and specify which platforms they are intended for. Here are the patch notes for June 3, 2023 - Diablo IV Patch Notes 1.0.2d Build #42131 (All Platforms).
Greetings adventurer!
We have implemented some adjustments to our Classes and would like to share our thought process behind them. While we are satisfied with the current performance of our Classes, we believe there is always room for enhancement. Our objective with these modifications is to ensure a more well-rounded and enjoyable gameplay experience. These changes can be categorized into three main areas:
We strive to create an environment where players can experience the thrill of being powerful, yet certain Class builds and synergies may pose a threat to the overall balance of the game. Therefore, we have taken measures to reduce their impact. For instance, we strive to prevent scenarios where players can withstand an excessive amount of damage for extended periods since it deviates from our intended combat experience in Diablo IV.
Moreover, we acknowledge that certain skills and builds may not be as potent as we desire, and thus, we have implemented various buffs to improve their efficacy.
We have identified that Paragon Glyphs are giving players an excessive amount of power, which is why we have decided to decrease their overall impact. However, we remain committed to the principle that achieving class balance is an ongoing process rather than a final destination. Our goal is to ensure that all class builds are enjoyable, potent, and reasonably competitive.
Thank you all for supporting us, and we'll see you in Sanctuary!
