The formidable Lichdragon Fortissax is a boss of the Legend type in Elden Ring. This optional dragon boss awaits at the end of Fia's questline and defeating it will yield rewards, including Fia's Armor Set, Runes, and Remembrance of the Lichdragon. This latter item opens up the opportunity for tarnished players to purchase two powerful Incantations from Enia, the Finger Reader. Lichdragon Fortissax is a massive four-winged dragon that unleashes bolts of lightning as its primary weapon. To reach this imposing foe, players must navigate through an underground area and defeat at least two other bosses before facing off against the Lichdragon Fortissax.
Players should prioritize triggering Fia’s quest before attempting to battle the secret boss and uncover the way to Lichdragon Fortissax. This formidable foe wields lightning Incantations and has the ability to swiftly defeat Tarnished in Elden Ring. However, reaching the Lichdragon Fortissax location requires completing a series of crucial steps, including obtaining the Cursemark of Death, which is intertwined with the story of Ranni the Witch, another NPC.
The Lichdragon Fortissax secret boss can be found in the deepest parts of Deeproot Depths in Elden Ring.
To kickstart Fia's questline, players need to hand over the broken dagger to D, Hunter of the Dead and then proceed to Nokron to defeat the formidable Valiant Gargoyle boss. Upon defeating the boss, a coffin will appear at the end of the room which players must interact with to be teleported to the hidden area, Deeproot Depths.
Upon arriving at Deeproot Depths, head west and light the Great Waterfall Crest Site of Lost Grace, summon Torrent, turn west, then:
Sprint to the giant tree root that connects two platforms.
Jump on the root then keep following its path until players reach the other side.
Move northwest and activate the Deeproot Depths bonfire. A Palm Reader NPC should be sitting near a cliff.
Head northeast and follow a narrow passage that will take you to a charming garden house-like structure. Inside, you'll find the Deeproot Depths map fragment. Once you've got it, continue your journey towards the southwest until you reach the Nameless Eternal City Site of Lost Grace. Don't forget to take in the breathtaking scenery along the way!
Move south through the massive archway and make sure to eliminate the knight, otherwise, they will pursue you endlessly. Afterward, proceed towards the east and climb the tree roots before continuing along the path.
Follow the path that veers to the right after the root splits into two. Continue walking until you reach the end of the path. From there, jump onto the broken root to your left and advance towards the Site of Lost Grace until it becomes visible below.
Head northwest into a vast open space where A Site of Lost Grace should be visible from above. Upon reaching there, light the Across the Roots bonfire and head inside where you will find Fia. However, before interacting with her, players will have to engage in Fia's Champions boss fight and emerge victorious.
Once the fight is over, give Fia the Cursemark of Death and exhaust her dialogues. After this, reload the area and interact with Fia who will be sleeping to enter her dream.
As players venture inside, they will face a fierce battle against the formidable Lichdragon Fortissax. Victorious players will be rewarded with the coveted Mending Rune of the Death-Prince, which will unlock the highly sought-after Age of Duskborn Ending.
How To Trigger Fia’s Quest In Elden Ring
Defeating the dragon rewards players with 90,000 Runes and a valuable item called the Remembrance of Lichdragon. This special item can be exchanged at the Roundtable Hold for two powerful Incarnations: Fortissax's Lightning Spear and Death Lightning.
Fia, the Deathbed Companion, is a non-playable character encountered at Roundtable Hold after defeating the first Shardbearer. She can be located in a bedroom adjacent to Smithing Master Hewg's location. Initially, Fia only offers Baldachin's Blessing if Tarnished permits her to hold them.
Upon unlocking Altus Plateau or defeating General Radahn in Elden Ring, players can trigger Fia's quest which is crucial for locating Lichdragon Fortissax. To begin the quest, players need to speak to the Deathbed Companion and hold her in secret to receive the Weathered Dagger. Once obtained, players must give it to D, Hunter of the Dead to complete the first step of Fia's questline in Elden Ring.
How To Get The Cursemark Of Death In Elden Ring
The Cursemark of Death is a crucial item bestowed upon Fia to aid her in her pursuit to defeat the formidable Lichdragon Fortissax. However, obtaining this item is not a simple task as players must successfully navigate through a significant portion of Ranni the Witch's quest to obtain it.
Exploring Caria Manor in Liurnia of the Lakes and defeating Royal Knight Loretta is an essential step to progress in the game. This is because Ranni's Rise, where Ranni is located, can only be accessed from Loretta's boss area.
After traveling to Caelid and activating the Radahn Festival, Tarnished must defeat General Radahn in order to gain access to Nokron, the Eternal City. Inside Nokron, the Fingerslayer Blade can be retrieved by obtaining The Nokron Treasure and giving it to Ranni. In exchange, Ranni will provide the Carian Inverted Statue, which can be used to flip the Carian Study Hall upside down. The final step is to climb to the top floor of the Divine Tower of Liurnia and obtain the Cursemark of Death. Offering this cursemark to Fia at the Deeproot Depths after defeating Fia's Champions will allow the Deathbed Companion to lay with Godwyn, enabling players to enter her dream and battle the secret boss, Lichdragon Fortissax, in Elden Ring.
Elden Ring is available now for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S.
