Highlights
Geeta, the Top Champion of the Paldea region, fails to captivate players due to inadequate presentation and underdeveloped storyline, resulting in disappointment.Despite having the potential to become a multifaceted character with various roles, Geeta's narrative lacks intricate details.
Unfortunately, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's DLC seems to lack the opportunity to fully explore Geeta's story. Despite the games' shortcomings in terms of graphics and performance, Generation 9 still has its strong points, particularly in its diverse and compelling character roster. The character design, storytelling, and certain gameplay elements have captured the hearts of many fans, making them favorites despite any flaws. However, it appears that one of the iconic figures of the Paldea region will not receive the attention they deserve in the upcoming DLC for these games.
Countless Pokemon fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Scarlet and Violet's Hidden Treasure Of Area Zero DLC. This exciting addition to the game promises to transport players to uncharted territories, unveil enigmatic new Pokemon, and provide answers to the unresolved mysteries left behind in the game's main story. Among the host of captivating individuals featured in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, one particularly mysterious figure stands out – Geeta, also known as "La Primera," the esteemed Top Champion of the Paldea region. Many consider her to be the character shrouded in the most intrigue after the conclusion of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's main storyline. However, regrettably, it appears that the DLC has no intention of delving into her character or uncovering her potential motivations.
Geeta Needed More Presentation Throughout Scarlet and Violet's Main Story
Geeta not only holds the prestigious title of the Top Champion in the Paldea region, but she also serves as the chairwoman of the region's Pokemon League. These significant roles would naturally lead players to expect her to be a character of great importance, possibly even a recurring ally or a formidable adversary. Unfortunately, Geeta's involvement in the main story of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is minimal. She only appears briefly during the Victory Road storyline and offers little dialogue, mostly praising the player's battling skills – something that their rival, Nemona, already does abundantly.
Comparing Geeta to characters in the previous generation of Pokemon games, Pokemon Sword and Shield, provides an interesting perspective. In Sword and Shield, Chairman Rose served as the on-screen Pokemon League chairperson, responsible for governing the Galar region's League and its industries and public services. The dynamic between Rose and Galar's Champion, Leon, showcased a clash of interests and priorities that reflected the ideals of the people in Galar.
Geeta, as a character who combines the roles of Champion and chairperson, had the potential for depth, but her story lacked intricacy. Although gym leaders occasionally mention Geeta's strict leadership style and high expectations for her staff, she rarely displays these traits herself. Many players found her to be an easy opponent as Champion, as her team's strength and composition during the battle with Scarlet and Violet left them underwhelmed.
The upcoming DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet appears to have elements of its story centered around the academy, but the emphasis on introducing new Legendary Pokemon might take away from giving Geeta the attention she deserves. However, fans can anticipate exciting new journeys as the Hidden Treasure Of Area Zero DLC, consisting of two parts, is set to be released later this year. Both Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can be played on the Nintendo Switch platform.
