The story begins with the protagonist's planned journey to the renowned wizarding school, which takes an unexpected turn when they encounter a furious dragon, forcing them to continue their journey on foot.
After a series of teleportation experiences to iconic Harry Potter locales, the protagonist finally arrives at Hogwarts, where they are promptly sorted into their designated house. As the new day begins, players will have the opportunity to thoroughly explore the enchanting world of Hogwarts Legacy to their heart's desire, although some hidden areas may prove more challenging to discover.
Updated August 26th, 2023: For players aiming to fully explore every corner of Hogwarts Legacy, it is essential to discover all the different areas within the school grounds. While some areas are readily accessible, others like the Kitchen are more hidden and require the use of a specific spell in a specific location to unveil the entryway. To provide a more comprehensive understanding of how players can locate the Kitchen in Hogwarts Legacy, the following guide has been enhanced with an accompanying video.
Exploring Hogwarts
During their playthrough of Hogwarts Legacy, fans of the Harry Potter series can expect to come across a multitude of familiar places. These locations have been meticulously crafted and hold a special place in the hearts of devoted fans. However, it is important to note that not all areas can be freely explored right from the start. Some of them can only be accessed once the protagonist learns new spells and overcomes various challenges along their magical journey.
The Hogwarts Kitchen is no different, except that players will already have acquired the method of locating it while journeying to Gringotts with Professor Fig. To discover the entrance, all the player should do is cast Revelio in the correct location, but unless they were sorted into Hufflepuff, they probably won't come across this area frequently.
How To Fast Travel
To enhance their exploration of Hogwarts and the surrounding world, players should familiarize themselves with fast travel techniques. This allows them to conveniently revisit previously discovered locations, alleviating any potential confusion due to the vastness of the school grounds. By unlocking a few Floo Flames, players can easily orient themselves and navigate through Hogwarts with ease.
To access the fast travel feature, players need to pay a visit to a Floo Flame. By doing this, they can activate the flame and subsequently have the ability to teleport to that location at any time. While it's not mandatory to unlock Floo Flames in order to explore specific areas, having access to them undeniably proves advantageous.
Hogwarts Kitchen Location
During their playthrough, Hufflepuff players may pass by the entrance to the Hogwarts Kitchen multiple times without realizing it, unless they are attentive. Hufflepuff students can find the entrance at the bottom of the stairs leading to their common room. However, students from other houses will need to explore Hogwarts further if they want to discover it.
To locate the Hogwarts kitchen swiftly, other students can simply fast travel to the Grand Staircase. Once there, they should promptly turn around and make their way down the steps until they reach the very bottom floor. At this point, their focus should shift towards the pear portrait positioned on the left-hand side. By employing a swift cast of Revelio, this portrait will magically transform into a doorway that grants access to the Hogwarts Kitchen.
Within this enchanting experience, participants will have the extraordinary opportunity to delve into the secret lives of the House Elves at Hogwarts. Witnessing the hidden world behind the scenes, visitors can also peruse several Field Guides revealing the various activities undertaken by these diligent creatures within the magical castle.
Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. PS4 and Xbox One versions will release on April 4 and a Switch version will release on July 25.
