The Omnic skins not only have a great appearance but also have the potential to be used as PvE enemy types. Blizzard has already demonstrated this by repurposing Ana's mythic skin for a PvE mission, suggesting that skins like those of Symmetra, Pharah, Kiriko, and Cassidy could also be transformed into AI-controlled adversaries in event missions.

So far, Overwatch 2 has introduced some captivating themes for its battle passes, ensuring that the items in each pass align with the main focus of the season. In Season 5, players had the opportunity to dress their heroes as knights and wizards with a Fantasy theme, while a Space Opera theme brought Star Wars-inspired outfits. Greek Mythology and Cyberpunk themes also left a lasting impression. However, the battle pass in Overwatch 2 Season 6, centered around Omnic characters, may be the most unforgettable yet.

In the latest season of Overwatch 2, players can unlock Ana's Omnic-themed mythic skin, accompanied by robotic versions of several other heroes. Fans will get to witness how Pharah and Symmetra would appear as machines, and those who purchase the pricier Battle Pass bundle will receive new looks for Cassidy the gunslinger and Kiriko the vigilante. Interestingly, these stylish cosmetics designed to generate revenue for Blizzard might also serve a dual purpose by introducing additional PvE enemy types.

Overwatch 2’s Omnic Ana PvE Enemy May Be a Sign of Things to Come

Unveiling the Hidden Agenda Behind Overwatch 2's Omnic Skins

The Mythic Ana skin in Overwatch 2, named A-700 Wargod, completely transforms Pharah's mother into an unrecognizable machine. Featuring three unique heads, various colors, and different rifles to choose from, Ana's Mythic skin is an exciting addition to the game that dedicated players will be eager to obtain. What sets this skin apart is its versatility, as it has already been repurposed for a PvE mission, proving that it offers more than just a cosmetic upgrade.

In addition to the story missions that will be released in batches every few seasons, Blizzard will periodically introduce event missions for players to enjoy. These missions can be seen as optional side quests, allowing players to engage in replayable battles with special modifiers, all taking place in modified versions of multiplayer maps. The first event mission, called Underworld, transports players to a transformed King's Row, where they will face off against familiar adversaries.

Once players have charged up the batteries of Overwatch 2's Push robot and defeated some Omnics, they are tasked with defending a doorway alongside TS-1. In this final defense section, they will encounter a modified Orisa, similar to the one encountered in the Uprising event from the Archives. However, this time, Orisa is accompanied by the mythic Ana skin, A-700 Wargod. This adds a unique challenge as the enemy wields Ana's abilities and players rush to eliminate her before she can utilize her nanoboost.

Blizzard's decision to reuse assets with the mythic Ana skin in a PvE mission suggests that they may do the same with other skins. For example, Symmetra could be transformed into an AI enemy during the Wrath of the Bride PvE mission by simply giving her an Omnic skin. Pharah could naturally fit alongside the Jumpjet enemies, utilizing her abilities to pose a threat. Similarly, Kiriko's Kitsune Rush could make Null Sector groups challenging to defeat. Cassidy's High Noon, as the first true "team wipe" ability in PvE, could instill fear in players.

After Roadhog and Junkrat were given their Omnic skins a few months back, in preparation for the Omnic-themed sixth Season, Blizzard has numerous options for creating unique enemies in event missions. Although they will most likely be excluded from the story missions, the non-canon event missions provide the perfect opportunity to transform playable heroes into AI-controlled adversaries to battle against. With several heroes now having Omnic skins, it's possible that this robotic version of Ana may soon have some company as Cassidy, Kiriko, Pharah, and Symmetra all pose potential threats.

Overwatch 2 is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
