Square Enix Announces New Collector’s Edition of ‘Soul Eater Not!’ for 2024
: Anime Expo: The Ultimate Destination for Manga FansAlthough Square Enix has earned its reputation as a legendary player in the realm of video games, they have also established a flourishing publishing division encompassing original manga content, adaptations, and new editions of their diverse intellectual properties. During the Anime Expo panel dedicated to their manga and books, Square Enix made an exciting revelation about one of their flagship creations — the highly anticipated "Perfect Edition" of Soul Eater Not!
Soul Eater Not! is a unique spinoff of the popular Soul Eater series, created by Atsushi Ohkubo. While the original series focuses on students with incredible magical abilities, Soul Eater Not! delves into the lives of ordinary students who simply want to master their supernatural talents for a normal life. Originally released in five parts, Square Enix has now condensed the manga into three volumes for the new edition. This updated version not only includes improved translations but also showcases original cover artwork by Atsushi Ohkubo himself. The anticipated release date for the new edition is July 23, 2024.
Aside from Soul Eater Not!: The Perfect Edition, Square Enix has also announced several other manga titles for 2024. These include The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, Smoking Behind the Supermarket With You, The Villainess’s Guide to (Not) Falling in Love, Victoria’s Electric Coffin, Mobsters in Love, and Just Like Mona Lisa.
Viz Hypes New Naruto One-Shot Release Date, Shippuden Blu-Ray, and 2023 Slate
Viz Media showcased an impressive lineup of manga projects at the show. Among them was the highly anticipated spinoff manga of Naruto, created by the original author Masahi Kishimoto. This spinoff, focused on the character Minato, marks the first collaboration between Kishimoto and the renowned manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump in years. Scheduled for release on July 17, it has garnered much excitement from fans. Additionally, Viz’s Naruto offerings extended to a definitive Blu-Ray collection comprising the first 27 episodes of Naruto: Shippuden.
Furthermore, Viz has announced several other enticing releases for their fall manga slate. These include Akane-Banashi, Heart Gear, Blade Moon Princess, and a deluxe box set featuring the first 11 volumes of Chainsaw Man.
