In Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 236, the intense battle between Satoru Gojo and Ryomen Sukuna reaches its conclusion, with Sukuna emerging as the victor. Despite Gojo's limitless technique, Sukuna manages to overcome it and divides him vertically from the torso. This definitive outcome is further emphasized through a depiction of Gojo's presence in the purgatory or afterlife, alongside other deceased sorcerers like Geto, Nanami, and Haibara. In his final moments in purgatory, Gojo expresses his gratitude for being killed by a sorcerer who surpasses his strength. He also shares his satisfaction in avoiding the inevitable effects of old age and illness.

Nevertheless, is there a possibility for Gojo to defy death and resurrect once more? Though appearing implausible, there exists a theory proposing his potential revival, albeit not in the form of Gojo Satoru, the renowned "Strongest One". Sources from leaks in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 236 reveal that Gojo Satoru inquired about his final moments from Nanami.
According to Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 236, Nanami reveals that Mei Mei once gave him advice on discovering a new side of himself. She suggested that he should head North to find this new path. However, if he wished to remain unchanged, he should head South. Surprisingly, Nanami decided to choose the latter direction and was relieved to find Haibara there to provide him with companionship.

According to unofficial translations of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 236, it appears that Gojo Satoru has made the decision to travel to the North. This suggests that he did not accompany his friends on their journey to Okinawa, the southernmost prefecture in Japan. It is possible that Gojo intends to explore the North and uncover a new aspect of his own being.
However, the question remains as to why Gojo has chosen this path instead of heading South to be with his companions. It is worth noting that during his battle against Toji Fushiguro, Gojo Satoru experienced a moment of enlightenment and declared himself the "Honored One".
"In Jujutsu Kaisen, Gojo declared, 'I am the sole revered figure throughout heavens and Earth.' This powerful statement, derived from the Lotus Sutra of Buddhism, compares Gojo Satoru to a divine entity surpassing the usual limitations of a human being, reminiscent of the Lord Buddha. Coincidentally, the sacred Buddhist texts also mention Buddha's journey to the North."

Should Gojo's persona be truly inspired by Buddha, he could venture northward and delve deeper into a different facet of his being. Nevertheless, unlike the Enlightened One, Gojo Satoru might eventually resurface, albeit in an alternate embodiment or manifestation, subsequent to Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 236.
According to Buddhist ideology, individuals are trapped in an unending succession of existence, demise, and renewal, commonly referred to as Samsara. The ultimate goal for Buddhists is to break free from this cycle. However, Gojo Satoru, despite presenting himself as the Enlightened One, exhibits an unwavering arrogance.

Once an individual attains true enlightenment, known as Moksha or Nirvana, they can escape the cycle of rebirth. Although Gojo unlocked his full potential in an enlightened state, it is uncertain if he will truly be liberated from Samsara after the events of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 236.
Furthermore, chapter 236 subtly suggests the possibility of Gojo Satoru's reincarnation or rebirth through the depiction of lotus flowers. Lotus flowers symbolize renewal, self-regeneration, and spiritual enlightenment, as well as embodying beauty, purity, and truth. Considering that Gojo has not yet reached a state of complete enlightenment, it is conceivable that he may be reborn.
However, he may have to face dire consequences for his actions. Upon attaining enlightenment for the first time in Jujutsu Kaisen, during the confrontation with Toji Fushiguro, Gojo experienced a devastating loss that stripped him of everything he held dear, plunging him into profound solitude.

If Satoru is able to rediscover himself after his death, he has the potential to return, although this may result in the sacrifice of his powers afterwards. There is a chance that he could live out the remainder of his life as Satoru Gojo, but not as 'The Strongest One'.
However, it is important to note that this is simply speculation at the moment, lacking any solid evidence. Fans are curious about the continuity of his powers, specifically the Six Eyes and the Limitless techniques. Therefore, it is possible that these abilities could be inherited by the next generation.
