Unveiling the Epic Q Post-Credits Scene in Picard Season 3: Star Trek Legacy at Its Finest!

Ed Speleers discusses his experience working with Q and the potential future of Star Trek: Legacy, leaving fans eager to see if Paramount Plus will give it the green light

Summary

Ed Speleers, if given the chance, expresses his eagerness to once again embody the character of Jack Crusher in the anticipated Star Trek spinoff, Star Trek: Legacy. He eagerly awaits the opportunity to join this venture.

Speleers discusses his collaboration with John de Lancie as Q and details the end-credits scene in the finale of Star Trek: Picard season 3. He emphasizes the importance of allowing the scene to have its own breathing space and expresses optimism for future scenes featuring de Lancie.

Despite the immense success and popularity of Star Trek: Picard season 3, Paramount+ has not yet given the green light for the continuation spinoff, Star Trek: Legacy. To demonstrate their unwavering support for the potential of Star Trek: Legacy, fans can stream the series on Paramount+ and purchase it on Blu-ray or DVD.

Ed Speleers discussed working with Q (John de Lancie) in Star Trek: Picard season 3 and confirmed that he would return as Jack Crusher in the proposed spinoff, Star Trek: Legacy. The season ended with a surprising end-credits scene where Ensign Jack Crusher is visited by Q, who hints at a new trial. Showrunner Terry Matalas set up Star Trek: Legacy with Q shifting his focus from Admiral Jean-Luc Picard to Ensign Crusher on the USS Enterprise-G. In an interview with Star Trek Explorer, Speleers was asked if he would reprise his role as Jack Crusher for Star Trek: Legacy. His response was:

I will eagerly attend. If the chance arises, count me in, Scotty!

Additionally, Speleers extensively discussed the filming process of the final scene for the end credits in the third season of Star Trek: Picard, as well as his experience collaborating with John de Lancie portraying Q. Read his statement below:

Terry didn't explicitly inform me about the situation. The script was simply presented to me. He mentioned, "I am going to incorporate some scenes in this episode that might potentially pave the way for Jack's future existence," but he didn't specifically disclose it to me. I just recall reading it and subsequently learning about John de Lancie and his portrayal of Q, and what that means for the Star Trek canon. Naturally, I was thrilled at the prospect of working with him. I find the scene quite intriguing because it's not lengthy, yet the way Terry envisioned it and the way John and I brought it to life was by leaving ample room for the scene to breathe between the lines. Given the extensive history between Picard and Jack, if this storyline were to continue with Jack's character, these two would become frenemies. Moreover, we filmed this scene towards the end of the production, and Terry and I extensively discussed the possibility of further involvement in the spin-off, so it was imperative that this scene made an impact. I simply hope that it's just the beginning of numerous scenes with John de Lancie.

Will Paramount Plus Green Light Star Trek: Legacy?

Unveiling the Epic Q Post-Credits Scene in Picard Season 3: Star Trek Legacy at Its Finest!

The delay in the progression of Star Trek: Legacy has left devoted fans longing for more of Jack Crusher's 25th-century adventures aboard the USS Enterprise-G under the command of Captain Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan). It is undeniably frustrating that there has been no significant development for Star Trek: Legacy, especially considering the critical acclaim and immense popularity achieved by Star Trek: Picard season 3, which even secured a spot in the Nielsen streaming Top 10. With such evident success, it is logical to assume that Paramount+ would greenlight the continuation spinoff for Picard. However, this eagerly anticipated approval is yet to be granted.

The ongoing strikes by the Writer's Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA suggest that Paramount+ may face further delays in moving forward with Star Trek: Legacy. However, fans can support the cause of Star Trek: Legacy by continuing to stream Star Trek: Picard season 3 on Paramount+ and purchasing the Blu-ray or DVD version. This will demonstrate to Paramount and CBS that the demand for Star Trek: Legacy remains strong, despite the conclusion of Star Trek: Picard season 3 in April. Stream Star Trek: Picard season 3 on Paramount+ now and get the Blu-ray or DVD version from CHS Home Entertainment.
