Summary
Invincible season 2 will introduce a villain, Angstrom Levy, with multiversal abilities, adding a new dynamic to the storyline.
Levy's powers will provide a fresh exploration of the multiverse concept by enabling him to access different dimensions. The show could become even more fascinating with Levy's intriguing actions, such as kidnapping and manipulating alternate versions of Invincible.
According to creator Robert Kirkman, Invincible season 2 will explore a different multiverse storyline. Returning to Prime Video on November 3, the animated superhero show will continue to delve into the strained relationship between Mark/Invincible and his father Nolan/Omni-Man. Additionally, the upcoming episodes will introduce a new villain, Angstrom Levy, who possesses multiversal abilities, causing problems for the titular superhero. Kirkman, who also wrote the comics on which the show is based, shared with IGN that the multiverse in season 2 will have a unique twist thanks to Levy's powers. However, unlike other shows, the concept of the multiverse will not be overly relied upon.
Angstrom Levy Could Take Invincible To New Heights
If Angstrom Levy is the backbone villain, then that is undoubtedly his core story. However, we must not overly rely on it, and it is important to emphasize that our exploration of the multiverse takes a unique approach. While there are countless movies and TV shows delving into this concept, we bring a fresh and new perspective to it. Nonetheless, it remains a significant aspect of his character. His innate superpower allows him to access other dimensions, and we will accompany him on his journey as he endeavors to harness this power in various ways that may ultimately become corrupted. Therefore, we will follow his path and observe its consequences, leading to an inevitable clash with Invincible in the most detrimental manner.
In the Invincible comics, Levy possesses the ability to open portals to alternate realities, which ultimately leads to malevolent consequences. By seizing Mark Grayson’s mother and younger brother, Levy manipulates his powers to transport Mark through a series of different dimensions. Coming back with a fresh agenda, Levy hatches a scheme to enlist malevolent versions of Invincible from these alternate realities, exploiting them to tarnish Mark’s reputation. On one hand, Levy poses a grave threat comparable to Omni-Man, but on the other hand, he potentially holds the potential to intricately expand the storyline.

In the comic books, Levy sends Invincible to the Marvel Universe, where he encounters Spider-Man. This crossover is subtly hinted at in the Invincible season 2 teaser as Mark scrolls through his phone. In a brief moment, it appears that he has the cover of Marvel Team-Up #14 displayed on the screen. This particular issue showcases a collaboration between Invincible and Spider-Man. It could be interpreted as a mere nod to the crossover, especially considering that Invincible has also enlisted the talents of Josh Keaton for an undisclosed role. Keaton has previously provided the voice for Spider-Man in various titles, including a recent reprisal of his role as Spectacular Spider-Man for a cameo appearance in Across the Spider-Verse.
Levy's inclusion and abilities will undoubtedly push Invincible's growth as a hero and elevate the show beyond its focus on family conflict, regardless of its connection to Marvel. Exceptional comic book adaptations and genre series typically feature a remarkable array of adversaries. Levy's potential as a significant character, alongside Omni-Man, is hopefully just the beginning, leaving an indelible impression.
