WARNING: This article contains SPOILERS for Power Rangers Cosmic Fury.
Summary
The Power Rangers Cosmic Fury series preserves the essence of the Super Sentai by retaining the Zords and Megazords, while introducing new footage and updated costumes. The team's powers undergo a transformation, leading to the substitution of their initial Dino Fury Zords and costumes.
In Cosmic Fury, notable Zords such as the Cosmic Lion, Wolf, Bull, Chameleon, Shark, Dragon, Scorpion, and Eagle were featured. Alongside these were iconic Megazords like Astro, Galaxy, Ninja Blaze, and Beast-X. These Power Rangers Cosmic Fury Zords and Megazords, many of which were adapted from Uchu Sentai Kyuranger, added an even cooler element to the newest Power Rangers series. The charm of Power Rangers lies in the adaptation of Super Sentai mechas into Zords and Megazords, a tradition that has been consistently upheld since the introduction of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in 1993. While Cosmic Fury incorporated a significant amount of original footage and even showcased original Power Rangers costumes, the Zords remained true to their Super Sentai origins.
The events of Cosmic Fury take place immediately after the conclusion of Power Rangers Dino Fury season 2 in the Power Rangers timeline. However, it doesn't take much time for the Rangers to lose their original powers and acquire new ones. As a result, the Dino Fury Zords and costumes are also replaced. In Cosmic Fury, we witness the introduction of various Power RangersCosmic Fury Zords and Megazords, including the iconic Cosmic Lion and other mechas that make a comeback for the final battle. 18 Cosmic Lion Zord
17 Cosmic Wolf Zord
Now serving as the Cosmic Fury Red Ranger, Amelia takes control of the Cosmic Lion Zord. While the new Red Ranger of the Power Rangers operates various Zords throughout the season, Amelia's primary mecha in Cosmic Fury is the Cosmic Lion Zord. Its vibrant color is naturally red, symbolizing its fierce power. The Shishi Voyager is the counterpart of the Cosmic Lion in the Kyuranger series. As the vital component of the Cosmic Fury Megazord, the Cosmic Lion Zord assumes the roles of both the torso and the head of the mighty Cosmic Megazord.
The Cosmic Wolf Zord, inspired by Kyuranger's Ookami Voyage, is presented in a striking blue hue, marking a nostalgic moment for Power Rangers enthusiasts after almost three decades. This iconic occurrence came about when Billy, known for steering the Wolf Ninjazord in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers season 3, assumed control over the Cosmic Wolf Zord in Cosmic Fury. The buzz around David Yost's reprisal as Billy in Cosmic Fury left fans with little doubt that the original Blue Ranger would be at the helm of the Ookami Voyage. Thankfully, Cosmic Fury delivered on this delightful Power Rangers fanservice, with Billy even acknowledging that he had once operated a remarkably similar robotic companion.
16 Cosmic Bull Zord
15 Cosmic Chameleon Zord
The Oushi Voyager of Kyuranger is transformed into the Cosmic Bull Zord in Power Rangers Cosmic Fury. Serving as a vital component of the Cosmic Megazord, the Cosmic Bull Zord is distinguished by its black color and was operated by the skilled Cosmic Fury Black Ranger, Javi. Alongside Red Ranger Amelia, Javi commanded various other Zords, but the Cosmic Bull remained his primary robotic vehicle throughout the series. At the onset of Cosmic Fury, Javi suffered the loss of his arm. However, with the assistance of Billy and Solon, he was able to return to active duty.
The Cosmic Chameleon, inspired by Kyuranger’s Chameleon Voyager, was the green Zord of Cosmic Fury. It was exclusively wielded by Green Ranger Izzy, although the other Rangers also had the opportunity to command the Cosmic Chameleon, just as Izzy could pilot other Zords. As part of the Cosmic Fury Megazord, the Cosmic Chameleon operated as the left arm.
14 Cosmic Shark Zord
13 Cosmic Fury Megazord
Power Rangers Cosmic Fury does not have a Yellow Ranger among its cast of characters. However, an interesting aspect of the show is the inclusion of a yellow Zord called the Cosmic Shark. This particular Zord, known as the Kajiki Voyager in its Super Sentai counterpart, serves as the right arm of the Cosmic Fury Megazord. Aiyon, who portrays the Gold Ranger in Cosmic Fury, frequently pilots the Shark Zord. Since there is no Yellow Ranger on the team, the Gold Ranger's costume was the closest match for the yellow Shark Zord.
The primary Megazord in Power Rangers Cosmic Fury is known as the Cosmic Fury Megazord. It originates from Kyutama Gattai KyurenOh in Kyuranger, one of the numerous mechas featured in the Super Sentai series. Kyuranger boasts numerous Zords, including some that are not part of Cosmic Fury. This is why the main Cosmic Megazord is just one of the many Megazord combinations showcased on the show. The standard form of the Cosmic Fury Megazord comprises the Cosmic Lion, Wolf, Bull, Chameleon, and Shark Zords. The immense size of the Zords' Cosmic Orbs is accentuated in the design of this mecha, with the Red Cosmic Orb taking a prominent position at the forefront.
12 Cosmic Eagle Zord
11 Cosmic Cobra Zord
The Cosmic Eagle, known as the Eagle Voyager in Kyuranger, stands out as one of the most impressive mechas in terms of its design. In Power Rangers Cosmic Fury, it retained its majestic name but without a corresponding purple Ranger, there was no specific character directly associated with this Zord. Nevertheless, the Cosmic Eagle made numerous appearances throughout the series and played a crucial role in helping Mick Kanic return to his home planet.
The Cosmic Cobra Zord is a supplementary Zord featured in Power Rangers Cosmic Fury. It draws inspiration from Kyuranger's Hebitsukai Voyager and possesses a unique ability among other Cosmic Fury Zords - it is capable of transforming into a humanoid form for combat purposes.
10 Cosmic Grizzly Zord
9 Cosmic Dragon Zord
Cosmic Fury showcases the formidable Grizzly Zords, a dynamic duo of bear-inspired Zords. In the Kyuranger series, these Zords go by the name Koguma Voyager. Notably, the Cosmic Grizzly Zord assumes a pivotal role as the second most significant component of the Dragon Megazord within Cosmic Fury. Although intended for the Blue Ranger Ollie, circumstances dictated otherwise as he succumbed to evil and donned the mantle of an antagonist throughout a major part of the season. The Dragon Zord, known as Cosmic Fury's Dragon Zord, should not be mistaken for the Dragonzord of the Green Ranger in Mighty Morphin. It holds a significant position as one of the most formidable Zords showcased in the series. Once, Lord Zedd, who had controlled the immensely powerful Serpentera, aimed to seize the Dragon Zord and claim it as his personal Zord. However, the Power Rangers intervened and managed to prevent this situation. Consequently, they incorporated the Dragon Zord into their collection of Zords. Originating from Kyuranger's Ryu Voyager, the Cosmic Fury Dragon Zord possesses immense power.
8 Cosmic Scorpion Zord
7 Cosmic Dragon Megazord
The Cosmic Scorpion Zord, known as the Sasori Voyager, becomes a part of the Power Rangers Cosmic Fury lineup. This particular Zord stands out with its vibrant Orange color, providing the first indication that Cosmic Fury might introduce the franchise's inaugural Orange Ranger. As fate would have it, Fern, the Orange Ranger for Cosmic Fury, was bestowed with the honor of piloting the formidable Scorpion Zord. Notably, the Cosmic Scorpion assumes the role of the left arm within the formidable Dragon Megazord. The Dragon Void Megazord, a revamped version of the Cosmic Dragon Megazord, stands out as one of the most impressive Cosmic Fury Megazords. Unlike the other combinations of Cosmic Megazords which had minor variations, the Cosmic Dragon Megazord boasted its own distinct design. Comprised solely of the Cosmic Scorpion, Cosmic Grizzly, and Dragon Zords, this Megazord proved to be one of the Power Rangers' most formidable weapons in the battle against Cosmic Fury.
6 Cosmic Fury Ultrazord
5 Astro Megazord
The Cosmic Fury Ultra Zord is widely regarded as the ultimate Power Rangers Cosmic Fury Megazord. It is the impressive result of merging the Cosmic Megazord and the Cosmic Dragon Megazord. Making its grand debut in episode 9 of Power Rangers Cosmic Fury, the Cosmic Fury Ultrazord proved its might as the Power Rangers battled one of Lord Zedd's fearsome generals in Eltar.
Power Rangers Cosmic Fury's final battle witnessed the participation of various legendary Megazords, lending their assistance to the Cosmic Fury Rangers in their mission to save the day. Among these renowned entities, the Astro Megazord made its reappearance, originally debuting in Power Rangers in Space. With most of the In Space Rangers absent from the franchise for numerous years, the return of the Astro Megazord brought a joyful nostalgia to the fans.
4 Galaxy Megazord
3 Ninja Blaze Megazord
The Galaxy Megazord, a beloved classic Power Ranger Megazord, made a triumphant return in the climactic battle against Cosmic Fury. As the iconic main Megazord of the Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, it symbolized the enduring legacy of the series. Even though the Lost Galaxy Rangers themselves did not appear, this brief cameo served as a powerful confirmation that they continue to work together as a cohesive team.
Power Rangers Cosmic Fury was closely linked to Power Rangers Ninja Steel because of Mick's character. Mick even transformed into the Ninja Steel Red Ranger in Cosmic Fury. Additionally, during the ultimate confrontation, the Ninja Blaze Megazord from Ninja Steel made an appearance.
2 Beast-X Megazord
1 Dino Megazord
The Power Rangers: Beast Morphers, which has been succeeded by Dino Fury, stands as one of the most recent Power Rangers TV shows. Throughout the series, there were mentions of the Grid Battleforce, and viewers had the opportunity to witness Commander Shaw's appearance in Cosmic Fury. Notably, the final battle in Cosmic Fury saw the mighty Beast-X Megazord joining the fray.
To have a complete final battle in the 30th season of Power Rangers, the presence of the Mighty Morphin's Dino Megazord is essential, especially if the next Power Rangers series is a reboot. Billy, who had been assisting the Power Rangers Cosmic Fury Rangers throughout the show, returned with the phrase "Megazord Power" to contribute to saving the day. The Megazord was being piloted by all of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, although only the Blue and Yellow Rangers were visible, with the latter wearing her helmet.
