Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduced a considerable number of new creatures, including regular pocket monsters from Paldea, regional forms, "regional fakes," and the all-new Paradox Pokemon. Some of these creatures stood out due to their unique type combinations, which had never been seen before in the series, making them formidable in battles. As fans eagerly await the release of two DLC expansions for Gen 9, they may be interested in discovering the possible type combinations for the "Loyal Three" Munkidori, Okidogi, and Fezandipiti, which were potentially revealed during the latest Pokemon Presents event.

The first DLC expansion, titled The Teal Mask, is set to be released on September 13th for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. It will feature the Legendary Pokemon Ogerpon, along with other creatures. The Pokemon Presents presentation likely provided a hint at Ogerpon's typing in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet through the showcase of the Ogre Oustin' mini-game. Additionally, the official website introduced the new evolution of Applin with its Grass/Dragon type. Although the Pokemon Company has not yet disclosed the types of Munkidori, Okidogi, and Fezandipiti, keen observers may be able to infer their typings based on the moves they displayed in the trailer.

What Type Combinations Will The Teal Mask's Loyal Three Have in Scarlet and Violet?

To begin with, it has been known for some time now that in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the Loyal Three will possess a unique Ability called Toxic Chain, which has already generated controversy among fans. Toxic Chain grants its user a chance to inflict a severe poisoning effect on their target with every move, even if the move does not make physical contact. This ability can be highly advantageous in competitive battles.

Following the release of this information, a well-known Pokemon insider named Riddler Khu took to social media to ask fans if they would like to learn about the secondary type of the Loyal Three. As a result, the community deduced that Munkidori, Okidogi, and Fezandipiti all share Poison as one of their types, which is perfectly logical given their Toxic Chain Ability. In the recent Pokemon Presents event, fans were further treated to glimpses of the Kitakami region in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, as well as a closer look at the Loyal Three, including their battle animations.

In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Munkidori is observed using a move that appears to be Psychic-type. The animation closely resembles Hypnosis and Psychic. Okidogi, although it has a muscular appearance, raised speculation among fans due to its green coloring, suggesting it may be a Grass-type. However, this dog-like Pokemon is seen executing a move that seems to be Fighting-type, although it's difficult to determine the exact move. Based on the brief animation, it is likely that Okidogi is utilizing Circle Throw, Focus Punch, Mach Punch, or Reversal, but it could potentially be a different move.

Lastly, Fezandipiti's move is more easily recognizable, resembling the animation for Moonblast, a Fairy-type move. Following the Pokemon Presents event, Riddler Khu shared another post featuring a still image of the Loyal Three performing these moves. This could be a way of indicating to fans that these are the creatures' secondary types. If this is the case, then Munkidori would possess the Psychic/Poison combination, Okidogi would have Fighting/Poison, and Fezandipiti would be classified as Fairy/Poison. While Kieran and Carmine from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are expected to have a role in the story, it remains unclear if they will have any connections to the Loyal Three.
