Unveiling the Astonishing Advancements of P's Rally System

Lies of P introduces an enhanced rally system, inspired by Bloodborne's aggressive combat Experience the thrill as enemies rally alongside you and unleash devastating attacks Brace yourself for intense battles and master the art of rallying from blocks in this exhilarating new game

The rally system in Bloodborne is a crucial element that encourages players to adopt a more aggressive playstyle. In the upcoming game Lies of P, this mechanic has been further developed to offer a unique combat experience. Through the recently released demo and trailer, players have had the opportunity to witness the enhanced rally system in action.

In the original version of Bloodborne, the rally system allowed players to recover a portion of their health by attacking enemies during combat. However, Lies of P takes this concept a step further by not only granting this ability to both enemies and the player, but also integrating it directly into the game's block and parry-based combat.

Lies of P's Enemies Can Rally Alongside the Player

In Lies of P, there is a significant departure from Bloodborne's rally system. Unlike in Bloodborne, where only the player can regain health, Lies of P introduces the concept of enemies and bosses retaining a portion of the damage inflicted on them as a secondary health bar. However, in Lies of P, this secondary health bar gradually replenishes over time for enemies, instead of relying on the player's attacks to drain it. This design choice encourages players to adopt a more aggressive playstyle, as constant attacks are necessary to prevent the fight from becoming protracted. Since players have limited Pulse Cells to heal with, allowing a boss to heal even slightly by prolonging the fight can make a crucial difference between victory and defeat. Ultimately, this mechanic effectively achieves the same objective as Bloodborne's rally system, by motivating players to maintain pressure rather than adopting a passive approach when facing formidable bosses.

Rally From Blocks in Lies of P

Players in Lies of P have two primary methods of reducing damage while blocking: executing a Perfect Guard or retaliating after a regular guard. The Perfect Guard requires players to identify optimal parry windows, similar to the challenging bosses in Sekiro rather than those in Bloodborne. On the other hand, the rally system enables aggressive players to capitalize on mistimed guards by swiftly counterattacking. These combined systems not only encourage players to approach combat strategically with guards and counters, but also ensure that they do not have to flawlessly execute every move in order to effectively progress through fights.

Lies of P takes a different approach to combat compared to Bloodborne's dodge-heavy style. Instead of relying on evasion, the game encourages players to confront enemies directly, capitalizing on openings for attacks and utilizing blocking whenever feasible. While the game draws inspiration from Bloodborne, it strives to create a distinct gameplay experience rather than simply replicating what has been done before.

Mark your calendars for September 19th when Lies of P will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
