All characters from the Power Rangers Cosmic Fury series had a chance to showcase their abilities, despite the limited number of episodes. The series showcased various lineups of Power Rangers, starting from the familiar Dino Fury team at the end of season 2 and later introducing unexpected combinations of Rangers. Towards the conclusion of Power Rangers Cosmic Fury, an additional Orange Ranger joined the team.

Fern Is Power Rangers’ First Orange Ranger In Cosmic Fury

Fern assumes the role of the Orange Ranger in Power Rangers Cosmic Fury, marking the first time an official Orange Ranger has been featured in the Power Rangers TV series. Previous instances of an Orange Ranger were limited to dream sequences in Power Rangers S.P.D. and misconstrued references to the character Kat as the Orange Ranger. While alternate realities in the comics have explored the concept of Orange Rangers, this is the first occurrence in the primary Power Rangers timeline after 30 years and numerous Ranger colors. Although the Orange Ranger had already been confirmed through promotional material, their appearance in Power Rangers Cosmic Fury occurs later in the season. Fern, originally a supporting character in Power Rangers Dino Fury, plays a recurring role in Cosmic Fury. After secretly accompanying the Power Rangers to another planet, Fern encounters numerous challenges and ultimately receives a Morpher, connects to the Morphin Grid, and transforms into the Orange Ranger of Cosmic Fury.

Power Rangers Cosmic Fury’s Orange Ranger Couldn’t Have Been Cooler

The Super Sentai Power Rangers Cosmic Fury, which is based on Kyuranger, introduced an Orange Ranger. However, Cosmic Fury opted not to use the Orange Ranger costume from Kyuranger, instead featuring a completely original set of suits. Fern's Orange Ranger costume is consistent with the other Power Rangers Cosmic Fury suits, which were first seen in episode 3. The only criticism of the Orange Ranger's suit is the helmet, which bears some resemblance to Amelia's Pink Ranger helmet from Dino Fury. Nonetheless, the introduction of Power Rangers' first Orange Ranger was undoubtedly impressive.

Including Fern as a member of the main cast of Power Rangers Cosmic Fury was a wise decision, as it allowed for further exploration of her relationship with Izzy (Tessa Rao). While the Cosmic Fury Green Ranger wanted to keep her girlfriend safe and away from dangerous situations, Fern felt capable of assisting the Power Rangers. After courageously risking her life to save the Power Rangers' mentor, Fern joined the team as a Ranger prior to the conclusion of Power Rangers Cosmic Fury. As the Orange Ranger, she operated several Zords and played a crucial role in the final battle against Master Zedd, ultimately saving the entire universe.
