The new Mythic skin for Season 7 of Overwatch 2 has been revealed. Onryo Hanzo portrays the stoic warrior in a supernatural manner, with glowing, fire-like skin, hair, demonic horns, and tusks, as well as weapon and armor customizations influenced by traditional Japanese spiritualism. Additionally, the skin incorporates a deep voice filter and unique sounds, including those for the hero's skeletal Dragonstrike avatars. Unlike Seasons 5 and 6, the Mythic Hanzo skin does not grant any customizations at lower Battle Pass tiers. Instead, all customizations and colors can be earned at level 80, similar to the first 4 seasons.

In Japanese folklore, onryo are wrathful spirits notorious for seeking vengeance against the living for past wrongdoings. Given Hanzo's tragic backstory, it is fitting to present him as one of these tormented ghosts. Furthermore, as Hanzo's younger brother Genji received the very first Mythic skin in the inaugural Overwatch 2 Battle Pass, it seems only appropriate for Hanzo to receive his almost a year later.
