To obtain Silhouette icons in Overwatch 2, players need to put in some effort as they are not automatically unlocked. Nevertheless, these image-based rewards have a certain class to them and add a visually pleasing touch to a player's profile. Their appeal goes beyond cosmetic enhancements, as they also broaden players' perspectives within the game. With season three introducing even more features, players are eager to unlock these amazing icons. Here's how to acquire them.
How to Get Silhouette Icons in Overwatch 2
In order to unlock Silhouette icons in Overwatch 2, players must fulfill a prerequisite. They need to win 15 matches while playing as the hero for whom they want the icon. For example, if a player wants a Silhouette icon for Sojourn, they must play as Sojourn and win 15 games. Fortunately, this should not be a problem for most gamers and can be accomplished easily in a fun evening with friends. However, those interested in collecting the entire collection of icons will need to put in extra effort.
It is important to note that previously played games as a specific hero will not count towards earning the Silhouette icon. Players will have to start from scratch. They can play normally in any mode, in both open and role queue matches, except for training or custom games. There are a total of 36 Silhouette icons for Overwatch 2 heroes. Playing quick-play game modes is a good idea, as they are relatively shorter and players can earn icons for their favorite characters one by one.
To check their current progress, players can access the Hero tab in the Challenge Menu. Once they have chosen a character, they must stick with them until the completion of the challenge. Switching to a different character at the last moment will not be considered.
When a specific Silhouette icon is unlocked, players should go to the Career Profile and select the Customization tab. From there, they can find the Overwatch category, click on the unlocked icon, and finally equip it to showcase their hero.
Overwatch 2 is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
