The Barbie Dreamhouse set showcased in the Barbie movie is presented in a captivating new video, featuring Margot Robbie as she guides viewers through the stunning creation. Directed by Greta Gerwig and inspired by the popular Mattel toyline, Barbie follows the journey of Robbie's character as she ventures into the real world following her expulsion from Barbie Land. As revealed in the trailers, a significant portion of the film will showcase a meticulously designed set resembling the iconic Barbie Dreamhouse.

In anticipation of the upcoming release of Barbie next month, Architectural Digest has released a video where Robbie provides an exclusive tour of the exquisitely pink Dreamhouse set. You can watch the tour video below:

The construction of the Dreamhouse is showcased in the video, highlighting the immense dedication and meticulous planning that went into every detail. From carefully selecting the perfect shades of pink to thoughtfully curating the contents of the fridge, no aspect was overlooked.

What sets the Dreamhouse set apart is that it is just one part of a whole street filled with Dreamhouses, all constructed for the film. As seen in the Barbie trailers, Robbie's character resides on a street alongside several other dolls, each of whom possesses their own pink Dreamhouse, meticulously built. These sets are essentially elaborate replicas of the toy Dreamhouse kits available for purchase, designed to complement the Barbie dolls.

The construction of the sets clearly required a significant amount of thought, labor, and building materials. The extensive use of pink paint for the sets resulted in an international shortage of specific shades of pink. It is worth noting that the paint was not only used for the Dreamhouses but also for the entire backdrop of Barbie Land. In a departure from modern productions that would typically rely on CGI, Gerwig chose to incorporate large matte paintings as a tribute to the musicals of the 1950s, the era in which Barbie was introduced.

In addition to the Dreamhouse street, the trailers have unveiled other prominent sets in the film. These include a beach set where Ken, portrayed by Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu, will engage in a face-off, as well as a desert set where Barbie and Ken embark on a journey to find the Real World. While many unanswered questions remain about the Barbie movie, one thing is certain: the film will showcase truly awe-inspiring craftsmanship and production design.
