Unveiling Hawezar: The Ultimate Guide to Diablo 4's Stronghold Locations

Unleash the fury in Diablo 4's Hawezar region by locating the three Strongholds: Eriman's Pyre, the Crusaders' Monument, and Vyeresz Prepare for intense battles and epic loot as you conquer these formidable fortresses

In Diablo 4's fourth act, Hawezar is the primary location where players will face the brunt of the action. It is a region of musty marshes and windy highlands, inhabited by a variety of dangerous creatures, including demonic cultists and a unique type of snake monster that can only be found within its borders. Similar to other regions in the game, Hawezar has three Strongholds that players must conquer in order to achieve maximum Renown levels across all areas. Liberating these cursed places from their monstrous masters is a necessary task for anyone looking to progress in the game. Here's a guide to finding all of Hawezar's Strongholds.

Eriman's Pyre

The Cinder Wastes lies at the border of northern Hawezar and the unforgiving tundra of the Fractured Peaks, a desolate area scorched by the wrath of a vengeful wraith. Amidst the remnants of ash and debris lies a dilapidated village, where the Pyre of Eriman continues to burn relentlessly.

Within this modest stronghold, players must gather the remains of the fallen villagers to finally extinguish the pyre and release their tormented souls. Upon collecting all four corpses, a challenging encounter with a Banshee-type miniboss armed with formidable fire attacks awaits. Overcoming this foe will not only provide closure for the deceased villagers but also grant access to the Oblivion dungeon, home to the Aspect of Shared Misery.

Crusaders' Monument

The abandoned monument north of Zarbinzet was once a sacred site dedicated to a failed Crusade and the brave warriors who lost their lives for it. However, the resting dead have been disturbed by Graverobbers, causing them to rise and seek revenge.

To complete this small Stronghold, players must locate the Graverobber corpses, collect the Crusader Skulls, and burn them all at the Ritual Brazier in the center. The boss fight involves battling three Crusader ghosts, which can be challenging, so players should exercise caution.

While completing the Crusader's Monument does not unlock any rewards, it does contribute to the overall completion of the Hawezar map.

Vyeresz

In the depths of Hawezar's marshlands lies a charming shanty town with a dark secret. The largest stronghold in the area, Vyeresz, is infested with snakes of various disturbing shapes and sizes, due to the influence of the local snake cult. Their enigmatic rituals are being conducted in the vicinity, further complicating Sanctuary's already challenging situation.

The initial stage of the Stronghold involves players exploring Vyeresz to collect Snake Eyes, which are necessary to unlock the central temple gate in the town. Once opened, the cultists are replaced by Nangari snake monsters, who pose a threat with their venomous attacks and petrifying stares. The boss of this section is a larger Nangari, which can be defeated with relative ease. Upon defeating it, players can access a new Waypoint and vendor station on this side of Hawezar.

Diablo 4 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
