What Can Sentry's Torch Uncover?

The regular torch in Elden Ring is mainly used to illuminate dark caves and catacombs in The Lands Between. However, players can come across different types of torches during their challenging journey to become the Elden Lord. One of these torches is the Sentry's Torch.

Update: As of August 11th, 2023, the Sentry Torch can be immensely helpful for players who wish to reveal hidden enemies. Luckily, this valuable item can be obtained from a merchant at a reasonable price in exchange for runes. However, players must first locate the shopkeeper. What is the Sentry's Torch

The Sentry's Torch was bestowed upon the protestors of the Erdtree, enabling them to unveil the invisible assassins known as the Black Knife. This unique torch possesses a special incantation that grants its users the ability to perceive these cloaked adversaries. Its weapon skill, Torch Attack, mirrors that of other torches, as players thrust it forward to strike their foes. Though its damage output may be modest, this torch proves advantageous when facing adversaries susceptible to fire.

How to Get Sentry's Torch

Elden Ring players can acquire the Sentry's Torch exclusively at the Hermit Merchant's Shack, making it the sole location for obtaining this item. Alongside other merchandise, the merchant offers the Sentry's Torch for a price of 7000 Runes.

If players don't have enough money to pay the merchant, try selling unwanted crafting materials or using one of the many rune farming methods.

The Hermit Merchant's Shack, known as the site of Lost Grace, is conveniently located just outside the Royal Capital of Leyndell. As its name suggests, the shack sits directly in front of the Site of Lost Grace. However, players who have not yet unlocked this site can choose to venture southeast of the Windmill Village Site of Lost Grace or north of the Outer Wall Battleground Site of Lost Grace.

How to Get to the Hermit Merchant's Shack

In the Lost Grace Battlefield's Outer Wall Battleground Site, players can easily spot the shack by following an uphill path to the east and continuing along a northeastern direction. Positioned on a hill, the shack provides an excellent vantage point overlooking the Outer Wall's save point.

What Can Sentry's Torch Uncover?

Equipping Sentry's Torch allows players to detect numerous Black Knife Assassin bosses scattered throughout the game world. Additionally, there exists a concealed wall within Sage's Cage at Altus Plateau that can only be revealed by employing the torch's light. Defeating the Black Knife Assassin within this hidden area yields the Concealing Veil talisman, which grants the wearer heightened concealment abilities when crouched away from adversaries.
