Blizzard Entertainment is introducing a plethora of updates for the upcoming second season of Diablo 4, entitled Season of Blood. In an effort to evolve the renowned ARPG franchise, Diablo 4 has adopted a live service approach similar to that of Destiny 2.
Unfortunately, the alterations made in the Season of the Malignant did not resonate with fans, prompting Blizzard to organize an urgent Campfire Chat for Diablo 4. This chat allowed developers to directly address player concerns. As Season 2 gears up for its imminent release, Blizzard has conducted a livestream to unveil the numerous enhancements gamers can anticipate on October 17.
In Diablo 4's upcoming 1.2.0 update patch, there will be significant enhancements and modifications to Mounts and Nightmare Dungeons. Nightmare Dungeons have been adjusted so that players can now earn Nightmare Sigils upon completing the map, eliminating the requirement to defeat a boss. Previously, players were unable to acquire Sigils if there was no boss encounter at the end. Additionally, all objectives will now be located on the critical path of each dungeon, streamlining the experience and minimizing the need for backtracking.
In response to player feedback, the mounts in Diablo 4 have undergone several changes, but the developers believe further improvements are necessary. In the next update, all mounts will receive a 15% increase in their basic movement speed. Furthermore, players will experience enhanced combat while mounted, as all ability cooldowns will be reduced by 50%.
Players will undoubtedly be delighted to see the changes accompanying the Season of Blood. It is important to mention that Blizzard is reverting some of the changes implemented during the Season of the Malignant. The controversial limited inventory space introduced in Diablo 4's Season 1 will now be rectified, as stashes will be available in all small towns with waypoints. Additionally, players will have the ability to search and filter their bounty for better organization.
Both the 1.2.0 update and the launch of Season of Blood come at a crucial time for the Diablo 4 team, given the mixed reception of Season 1. The success of Season 2 will not only depend on these updates, but also on a captivating campaign. In an effort to entice players back to Lilith's world, Blizzard will be hosting a second Diablo 4 livestream on October 10.
Diablo 4 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
