Act 3 of Diablo 4 takes place in the Dry Steppes, which later transforms into a level-scaled open-world region after the campaign is finished. Alongside the Fractured Peaks and Scosglen, the Dry Steppes map accommodates players under level 30, granting them three potential starting locations for a fresh character who opts to skip the storyline.

The Dry Steppes are the home of the Barbarians in Diablo 4, with the city of Ked Bardu serving as the region's main hub. This area is known for its arid and inhospitable environment, which can prove challenging for players who struggle with generating Unstoppable. Dealing with the stun-happy Cannibals can be particularly troublesome. Fear not, as this guide contains everything you need to complete the Dry Steppes, making it a must-have for both renown-hunters and completionists.

All Altars of Lilith In The Dry Steppes

Hidden throughout Estuar, the Altars of Lilith are valuable collectibles that players can discover. These altars are cleverly positioned behind corners, piles of rubble, or hidden within dense vegetation. Once found, players are rewarded with a permanent, minor boost to their primary stats, maximum obol capacity, or paragon points. With a total of 160 Altars of Lilith scattered across Diablo 4, the Dry Steppes alone contain roughly one-fifth of these elusive treasures.

The Dry Steppes Map Dungeon Locations

Diablo 4 features two distinct dungeon types: side dungeons and story dungeons. Story dungeons are exclusively accessible via the main questline or side quests and do not appear on the regular map of Estuar. Side dungeons, on the other hand, offer players the opportunity to earn an Aspect for their codex upon initial completion. Therefore, it is advantageous to complete all side dungeons not only for Renown progression but also for other compelling reasons.

In the Dry Steppes, a total of 21 side dungeons can be found, although several of them are inaccessible until a Stronghold has been completed. The renowned Nightmare Dungeon known as the Onyx Hold is situated behind the Onyx Watchtower located in the center of the area. Similarly, the Pallid Delve and the Shifting City are both locked away behind the Ruins of Qara-Yisu Stronghold, positioned in the southeast region of the zone.

All Strongholds In The Dry Steppes

Strongholds are exclusive occurrences where players must reclaim a region from a malevolent entity. Typically, the primary objective entails pushing back hordes of demons, although each Stronghold possesses its own distinctive narrative and questlines, rendering them unlike any other. While these endeavors cannot be revisited, triumphing over a Stronghold bestows 100 Renown, while also granting access to Waypoints, which are also valued at 20 Renown.

The Strongholds in the Dry Steppes map are positioned strategically to ensure maximum control over the area. Firstly, we have the imposing Onyx Watchtower, which stands tall at the heart of the landscape. Then, moving towards the southeast border of Kehjistan, we encounter the mysterious Ruins of Qara-Yisu. Finally, nestled in the southwest of the Dry Steppes, we find the enigmatic Temple of Rot. It is important to note that until these three Strongholds are conquered, access to three dungeons - the Onyx Hold, the Pallid Delve, and the Shifting City - remains restricted.

Where To Find Every Waypoint In The Dry Steppes

In Diablo 4, Waypoints act as the main method of fast travel for players and offer a convenient reward of 20 Renown upon discovery. Each zone in the game features a total of eight Waypoints to explore, with the capital city Waypoint being automatically unlocked for players who choose to bypass the campaign.

There are a total of eight Waypoints on the Dry Steppes map. However, two of these Waypoints, specifically the ones at the Onyx Watchtower and the Ruins of Qara-Yisu Strongholds, are initially inaccessible. You can only unlock these two Waypoints by successfully completing the associated Strongholds. Once you have done so, the Waypoints will automatically become available to you.

The Dry Steppes Cellar Locations

In Diablo 4, cellars offer thrilling expeditions into one-room encounters that are refreshingly unpredictable each time. Players will encounter an onslaught of foes, with the goal of triumphing over them all. These encounters can also host open-world-style events, such as the infamous "Keep All Three Villagers Alive" challenge. And if luck is on your side, you might stumble upon a delightful surprise: the rare appearance of Treasure Goblins instead of adversaries.

There are a grand total of 25 Cellars in the Dry Steppes, often hidden just a screen away in a corner. Although it can be quite a task to locate each one of them, players can start at the northern entrance to the Dry Steppes map from Scosglen and conveniently visit all the Cellars by traveling in a counter-clockwise direction.

World Boss Arena Location in The Dry Steppes

Diablo 4 features three World Bosses that can appear in any of the five locations scattered across Estuar. Each zone boasts a distinct boss arena, with one boss triggering approximately every six to seven hours in real-time. While players are alerted in-game beforehand, it is advisable to complement their experience by joining the official Diablo 4 Discord for accurate spawn notifications or utilizing third-party tools such as Helltides.com or Diablo4.life.

The Dry Steppes World Boss arena, known as Saraan Caldera, is situated just northeast of the Ruins of Qara Yisu Stronghold on the border of Kehjistan. To reach the World Boss quickly, the most efficient route is to travel to the Waypoint unlocked after completing the Ruins of Qara Yisu, as it's only a minute's ride away. Additionally, Nostrava, the Fractured Peaks Stronghold, is conveniently situated nearby.

Unique Bosses In The Dry Steppes Map

Each map in Diablo 4 features a distinct group of exclusive Elites with their own names, wandering across the terrain. These Elites drop Rare items that are also named and include a small description, although they do not introduce anything significantly new like actual Unique Legendaries. Nevertheless, their stats consistently remain the same, making them ideal as a strong foundation for imbuing Aspects with favorable attributes.

The Unique Bosses in the Dry Steppes map are Almunn located in the western Scarred Coast, Bhotak situated to the east of the Onyx Watchtower, Pitiless Gur found in the eastern Pallid Glade, and Zarozar the Mighty positioned in the far south of the Untamed Scars.
