CD Projekt Red has released Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.01, addressing various bugs and performance issues, especially in the Dogtown area.

The patch addresses specific quest issues, enhances gameplay by introducing the Arm cyberware into the weapon cycling sequence, and elevates the difficulty level of the Trauma Drama mini-game.

Furthermore, the update eliminates anti-Russian messages in the Ukrainian version, incorporates REDmod support to Phantom Liberty, and implements numerous visual enhancements and performance improvements across all platforms.

CD Projekt Red has started the rollout of the highly-anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.01 today. This news should not come as a surprise to fans, as the developer had previously hinted at an October 5 release for the 2.01 version of the game.

Just a few days ago, on September 21, CDPR released the game's largest-ever update, version 2.0, which brought about significant changes to the dystopian RPG. However, as expected with such a major update, it also introduced some new bugs. The list of recent issues with the game grew even further with the release of the Phantom Liberty expansion on September 26. This expansion introduced an entirely new neighborhood and provided players with approximately 30 hours of new quests to enjoy.

Many of the problems have been addressed in the newly released patch, which includes fixes for key bugs in several Phantom Liberty quests. The changelog for Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.01 also mentions performance improvements, specifically targeting the Dogtown DLC area, which has been underperforming compared to the rest of Night City. This is likely due to the lack of optimization efforts that were done for the base game over the span of three years by CDPR.

In addition, the 2.01 patch resolves older issues with Cyberpunk 2077. This includes fixing a bothersome bug where the Relic screen flickering effect would persist throughout the game if a specific dialogue option was chosen at the end of the Automatic Love quest. Furthermore, several side quests, known as "gigs," have been polished to address any bugs that previously prevented their completion under certain circumstances.

In terms of gameplay changes, patch 2.01 includes the addition of the Arm cyberware to the weapon cycling sequence. This enables players to seamlessly switch to melee options like Gorilla Arms without the need to open the quick selection menu. Additionally, the Trauma Drama mini-game, introduced in update 2.0, has been significantly heightened in difficulty. CDPR has patched an exploit that previously allowed players to easily overcome the arcade challenge by shooting repeatedly at enemies descending from the helicopter on each attempt.

Moreover, the Ukrainian version of Cyberpunk 2077 no longer contains any anti-Russian messages as this content has been removed in the latest patch. The updated localization now aligns with the original game, ensuring that such content is absent. Lastly, CDPR has added REDmod support to Phantom Liberty, granting modders the ability to expand on the expansion or fix any custom content that may have been impacted by the DLC.
