The Shibuya Incident in Jujutsu Kaisen introduced a range of fascinating characters with unique abilities, one of whom was the eldest of the Death Painting Womb brothers - Choso. Much anticipated, Choso initially sided with Pseudo-Geto and the Curses before aligning with the sorcerers. It is expected that he will continue to be a prominent figure in the series. Fans are left wondering about Choso's age, given his intriguing character.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Choso age explained

In Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen, Choso, the oldest of the Death Painting Womb brothers, is 150 years old and appears most human-like compared to his brothers Kechizu and Eso. Being half human and half Cursed Spirit, Choso is a unique hybrid with a body of flesh and blood that makes it difficult for both sorcerers and non-sorcerers to discern his true nature. He closely resembles a traditional sorcerer despite his hybrid status.
Where did Choso come from?
As previously stated, Choso is classified as a Death Painting Womb. Essentially, Cursed Womb: Death Paintings are nine Cursed Objects formed from a combination of human and curse spirit blood. Among them, Death Painting Wombs No. 1-3 are considered to be of special grade - Choso, Kechizu, and Eso.

During the early years of the Meiji Era, a woman with a unique genetic makeup gave birth to a child who was half-human and half-curse. As a result of this inexplicable pregnancy, she was shunned by her own family. Nevertheless, Noritoshi Kamo (Kenjaku) learned of her situation and used his intellectual curiosity to coerce the woman and her child into becoming captives.
After having nine pregnancies and undergoing nine abortions, all records of the procedures were destroyed. Tokyo Jujutsu High successfully protected all nine Death Painting Wombs by securing them within Tengen's barrier. Taking advantage of the Goodwill Event as a distraction, Mahito managed to break into the storehouse and steal Death Painting Wombs No. 1-3.
The trio was later brought back to life and given human bodies by Kenjaku. This chain of events resulted in the three Death Painting Womb brothers being reincarnated, ultimately leading to Yuji and Nobara reluctantly having to defeat Kechizu and Eso.
Switching loyalties
In the beginning of Jujutsu Kaisen, Choso decided to align himself with Pseudo-Geto and the Curses in order to seek vengeance for his deceased brothers by killing Yuji. Choso was present during the events in Shibuya and even confronted Gojo Satoru. He had a thrilling and intense exchange of blows with Yuji.
However, just as he was on the verge of delivering the final blow, Choso sensed something stirring within him. As a Death Painting Womb, he was able to detect others with the same ability, which he sensed in Yuji. Choso came to the realization that Noritoshi Kamo (Kenjaku) had survived by transferring bodies, and that Yuji was likely linked to him through that connection.
In Conclusion
Driven by his strong bond and protective instincts towards his siblings, Choso made the decision to switch sides in order to shield his last surviving brother from danger. As the series progresses, he is depicted engaging in a fierce battle against Kenjaku after the confrontation with Mahito, and ultimately forming an alliance with Yuki Tsukumo to ensure the safety of Tengen.

Choso stands out as a unique character in Jujutsu Kaisen. Initially, his only concern was looking after his brothers. Although he initially sought vengeance against Yuji by aligning with the Curses, he ultimately switched sides upon learning the truth about Yuji and Kenjaku's scheme.
Choso is typically described as calm, reserved, and quiet, often wearing a bored expression and appearing distant. His mixed human and curse heritage leaves him impartial to both sides, though he harbors love for his human mother and resentment toward the sorcerer who controlled him.
Editor's P/S
As an avid fan of Jujutsu Kaisen, I find the character of Choso to be particularly intriguing. His complex backstory and motivations make him a compelling figure, and I appreciate the depth and development that Gege Akutami has given him. Choso's journey from seeking vengeance to ultimately siding with the sorcerers is a testament to his strength of character and his loyalty to his family.
I am particularly impressed with the way Choso's age and origins are woven into the narrative. The fact that he is 150 years old and a hybrid of human and Cursed Spirit adds a layer of mystery and complexity to his character. His connection to Noritoshi Kamo (Kenjaku) and the Death Painting Womb brothers further enriches his story and ties him into the larger mythology of Jujutsu Kaisen.
