Just days after the conclusion of the Delphox raid battles, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet announce that the next 7-star Tera raid boss will be Rillaboom. Like previous seven-star Tera raid battles, this new challenger will test the type coverage of trainers in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Kicking off the summer, Delphox the Unrivaled was the first Tera raid boss to arrive in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet after a delay earlier this year that resulted in the cancellation of new raid battles. Once the issues were resolved, trainers strategized to defeat the Fox Pokemon. Some strategies were successful in defeating the Fairy-Tera type Delphox in a single strike, which is a remarkable accomplishment. However, as players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet prepare for the next battle, the new boss may prove to be a formidable adversary to capture.
Starting on Thursday, July 27th at 8:00 p.m. Eastern and ending on Sunday, July 30th at 7:59 p.m. Eastern, players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will have the opportunity to face Rillaboom the Unrivaled. This will be the first seven-star Tera raid to feature a Normal-type as its Tera type. Trainers who miss out on this event can try again in early August, from Thursday, August 3rd to Sunday, August 6th, during the same aforementioned times.
Rillaboom the Unrivaled, originally from Pokemon Sword and Shield, will join the list of Tera raid bosses, along with Galarian starters Inteleon and Cinderace. Trainers who defeat Rillaboom will receive the Mightiest Mark.
Similar to other seven-star Tera raid bosses in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Rillaboom the Unrivaled will have its Hidden Ability, Grassy Surge. This ability will create Grassy Terrain at the beginning of the battle, enhancing Rillaboom's signature move, Drum Beating. Rillaboom has a high physical attack stat and the Normal-type as its Tera type, making moves like Boomburst, Body Slam, and Tera Blast particularly effective. It can also utilize moves like Knock Off, Earthquake, and Hammer Arm for type coverage, and can increase its strength with Swords Dance and Bulk Up. Trainers may find strong Pokemon such as Annihilape, Giratina, Koraidon, and Corviknight useful in battling against Rillaboom the Unrivaled.
Although the Tera raid battle against Rillaboom the Unrivaled is still a few days away, the anticipation for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet players has been heightened with rumors of an exciting seven-star raid featuring Mewtwo. It remains to be seen whether these rumors will turn out to be true.
Nintendo Switch users can already enjoy playing Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
