Summary
The main antagonist in Ahsoka's upcoming series will be Grand Admiral Thrawn, who will be joined by a number of secondary antagonists such as Morgan Elsbeth, Baylan Skoll, and Shin Hati.
Morgan Elsbeth poses a substantial danger to Ahsoka and the other heroes due to her strong ties to Thrawn and her connections to the Imperial forces.
Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati, as non-affiliated Force-users, work as mercenaries in their quest to find Thrawn and gain power.
Three new character posters showcasing the series' villains have been revealed as part of the ramped-up marketing for Ahsoka in the weeks leading up to its release. In addition to Grand Admiral Thrawn, who is expected to be the primary antagonist, there will be a number of secondary antagonists that will go against Ahsoka and the other heroes from Star Wars Rebels during the New Republic era. The official Ahsoka trailer provided insights into these villains, but now they are receiving their well-deserved spotlight with the release of the series on August 23, 2023.
The official Twitter account of Star Wars shared a post unveiling the three character posters for Ahsoka, each representing one of the secondary antagonists. One poster showcases Morgan Elsbeth, who was first seen in The Mandalorian season 2, while the other two feature the dual Force-users known as Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati. These visually stunning posters continue the distinctive branding of Ahsoka, incorporating patterns reminiscent of the World Between Worlds from Star Wars, which mirror Elsbeth's star map from the Ahsoka trailer.
Who Are Ahsoka's Mysterious New Villains?
When it comes to the enigmatic antagonists of Ahsoka, little information has been disclosed thus far. It is understood that Morgan Elsbeth possesses ties to the Empire, as she served as an Imperial Magistrate on Corvus during season 2 of The Mandalorian. Furthermore, Ahsoka pursued her in hopes of extracting Thrawn's whereabouts, indicating a close association between Elsbeth and Thrawn. Some also speculate that Elsbeth may be a Nightsister, thus linking the villain to the planet of Dathomir in the Star Wars universe and potentially even to Darth Maul himself.
Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati are Force-users who do not align themselves with the Sith or Jedi. Baylan, a former Jedi who survived Order 66, now works as a hired Force-user. While Shin's background is currently unknown, it is evident that Baylan is her mentor, instructing her in the ways of the Force. Both Baylan and Shin are mercenaries on a mission to find Thrawn, along with Morgan Elsbeth, driven by their desire for power, as hinted by Baylan in Ahsoka's trailer. As Ahsoka releases on Disney+, more details about these antagonists will likely emerge, and hopefully, their stories will live up to the excellence depicted in their character posters.
